i am wondering how my life got to this.
how is it that i could be soooooooooooooooo stupid to make the wrong choice.
that i could have been sooo fooled by this person.
this is the thought in my mind today and will be for some time.
but when one makes a mistake one seeks God for advice and solace..
so Most gracious i come to you to give me the strength needed and courage needed to stand on my feet.
that i may get my life back on track with only one purpose - worshiping thee as best as i can
My prayer has always been .... Praise Be to God Lord of the universe..Lord God, take me by the hand, Lord God show me where to go, Oh Lord let me not alone, Lest i go astray This is my essence -the voice of my soul.. This IS ME..

Hasanat, Hasanatun, Hasanati.. what is it exactly
Here is another example of the interchanging uses of the
word in Arabic amongst his translations. and by his i mean Rashad khalifas translation - for which i am using as template to try read the Quran...
It struck my interest
still on surah 7.
On searching
the quran for the word hasanat –
it gave me the following
2:201 – in which
hasanat is translated as righteougneess.
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ رَبَّنَا
آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ
النَّارِ
Others would say, "Our Lord, grant us righteousness in
this world, and righteousness in the Hereafter, and spare us the retribution of
Hell."
3:120 - here hasanatun is used as good. – and more
interestingly tattaqoo is used for righteoueness. -the Arabic text didn’t
copy and paste properly so I have not put it.
In tamsaskum hasanatun tasuhum wain tusibkum sayyiatun
yafrahoo biha wain tasbiroo watattaqoo layadurrukum kayduhum
shayan inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona muheetun
When anything good comes your way they hurt, and when
something bad happens to you they rejoice. If you steadfastly persevere, and
maintain righteousness, their schemes will never hurt you. GOD is fully aware
of everything they do.
4:40 – hasanatun is used as righteousness
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ
ذَرَّةٍ وَإِنْ تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَاعِفْهَا وَيُؤْتِ مِنْ لَدُنْهُ أَجْرًا عَظِيمً
GOD does not inflict an atom's weight of injustice. On the
contrary, He multiplies the reward manifold for the righteous work, and grants
from Him a great recompense.
4:48 – hasanatun is
used as good
Aynama takoonoo yudrikkumu almawtu walaw
kuntum fee buroojin mushayyadatin wain tusibhum hasanatun yaqooloo hathihi min AAindi Allahi wain tusibhum sayyiatun
yaqooloo hathihi min AAindika qul kullun min AAindi Allahi famali haolai alqawmi la yakadoona yafqahoona hadeethan
Wherever you are, death will catch up with you, even if you
live in formidable castles. When something good happens to them, they say,
"This is from GOD," and when something bad afflicts them, they blame
you. Say, "Everything comes from GOD." Why do these people
misunderstand almost everything?
4:79 – hasanatin is
used as good
Ma asabaka min hasanatin famina Allahi wama asabaka min sayyiatin
famin nafsika waarsalnaka lilnnasi rasoolan wakafa biAllahi shaheedan
Anything good that happens to you is from GOD, and anything
bad that happens to you is from you. We have sent you as a messenger to the
people, and GOD suffices as witness.
4:85 – hasanatan is used as good
Man yashfaAA shafaAAatan hasanatan yakun lahu naseebun minha waman yashfaAA shafaAAatan sayyiatan
yakun lahu kiflun minha wakana Allahu AAala kulli shayin muqeetan
Whoever mediates a good deed receives a share of the credit
thereof, and whoever mediates an evil work, incurs a share thereof. GOD
controls all things.
6:160 – hasanati is used as righteous
Man jaa bialhasanati falahu AAashru amth1
Whoever does a righteous work receives the reward for ten,
and the one who commits a sin is requited for only one. No one suffers the
slightest injustice.
7:95 hasanati – I am
not sure but I reckon used as “peace and prosperity”
Thumma baddalna makana alssayyiati alhasanata hatta AAafaw
waqaloo qad massa abaana alddarrao waalssarrao faakhathnahum baghtatan wahum
la yashAAuroona
Then we substituted peace and prosperity in place of that
hardship. But alas, they turned heedless and said, "It was our parents who
experienced that hardship before prosperity." Consequently, we punished
them suddenly when they least expected.
From hence I will will shorten but URGE you to
check yourselves. - i fear its laziness and lack of patience that makes me not add the transliteration and arabic where i can....
7:131 – hasanatu Is used as good
7:156 - hasanatun Is used
as righteous
7:168 - righteous is
used here as salihuna and hasanati is used as prosperity
9:50 – hasanatun Is used as good
11:114 – hasanati Is used as righteous
13:6 – hasanati is used as righteous
13:22 - Hasanati is used as good
16:30 – hasanatun is
used as righteous whilst also righteousness is used as mutaqina
16:41 – hasanatan is not translated directly
16:122 – hasanatan is used as happiness
16:125 – hasanati is not translated directly but forms part
of “king enlightenment”
25:70 – hasanati is used as credits
27:46 - Hasanati – good works
27:89 – hasanati -
good works
28:54 – hasanati – good works
28:84 – hasanati – righteousness
33:21 – hasanatun – good
39:10 - Ahsanu is used as righteousness whilst hasanatun is
used as good works
41:34 – hasanatu is good
42:23 – hasanatan – righteous works
60:4 – hasanatun - good
60:6 – hasanatun – good

sahirin - clever or experienced?
consider the following verses
7:109 - قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
7:112يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ
Both are translated as thus:
7:109 - The leaders among Pharaoh's people said, "This is no more than a clever magician.
7:112 - "Let them summon every experienced magician."
what makes one magician experienced and one clever???
in relation to sahirin aalimun(109) and sahirin aalimun(112)??
the arabic is pretty much the same?
for me i gather "knowledgeable" magician as being more apt ..
onto another note - surah 7, 20, 26, 10, similar in relation to the magicians, pharaoh and moses.

Alaa llahi - what does this mean??
i am searching for the correct or closest to translation for this word "Alaa" which i find in Surat 7 verses 69 and 74.
7:69
AwaAAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi qawmi noohin wazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan faothkuroo alaa Allahi laAAallakum tuflihoona
RK translation - Is it too much of a wonder that a message should come to you from your Lord, through a man like you, to warn you? Recall that He made you inheritors after the people of Noah, and multiplied your number. Remember GOD's blessings, that you may succeed."
http://www.submission.org/d/x/webqt.php
the Phrase in question is highlighted in red "faothkuroo alaa Allahi or Fadhkuruu alaa Llahi( as i would write it)" which is translated as "remember Gods Blessings" in RK translation.
7:74
Waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakum fee alardi tattakhithoona min suhoolihaqusooran watanhitoona aljibala buyootan faothkuroo alaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena
RK translation - "Recall that He made you inheritors after `Ãd, and established you on earth, building mansions in its valleys, and carving homes from its mountains. You shall remember GOD's blessings, and do not roam the earth corruptingly."
which RK translates as - Neither the disbelievers among the followers of the scripture, nor the idol worshipers, wish to see any blessings come down to you from your Lord. However, GOD showers His blessings upon whomever He chooses. GOD possesses infinite grace.
on looking at the arabic - the from phrase - "God showers his blessings upon whomever he chooses" the arabic reads waAllahu yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao - God yakhtassu his mercy man yashao -
do you see what i am getting at.
For me - Ramatihi - is a derivative of mercy - so fitting translation for me may look like - God showers from his mercy to whom he wills. as opposed to using blessing when the arabic is rahmatihi - which in other verses is used as mercy not blessings..
on a side note - mercy is also a blessing of God.
for me i would just appreciate the non-confusion - and the non-mixing and matching to suit one's purpose.
Call a spade a spade - and don't be ambiguous - God is the one who will drive meaning into each and every of our hearts.
As God is the one who knows us all, the association and meaning we get from words will be different - we will all take to it different - God is in charge of that.
but truthfulness is being clear and being honest - in the pursuit of God - i will not accept anything less.
i will applaud and support what i find to be clear that i can recommend it.
but my feelings so far is that no one person can claim to have the correct translation of words and the part where in the Quran it says to examine all word rings more ever true and true..
at this minute i don't think it is an authorised translation -
authorised yes by the author who wrote the translation. this cannot be taken as Gospel as having the best translation in it - it makes a good read that is what it does - but GOOD READ is not truth and understanding. Good read is like fiction - which crumbles when you take a closer look and inspection of the material.
and to everyone else that is just taking a blind hand in translation of the material to other languages from the english translated - i guess are fooling themselves because - one can only translate from an original - not from a second hand.
english translation is secondhand - and to translate from secondhand - is foolish and foolhardy.
Flip side - maybe there is a link in all the missing words translated - if we can collate them do they read into a statement?
God is God will always be God and remain God - We should worship God alone and devote everything to God - i feel strongly about this - but in doing this let us advocate what is true and just in the message of God - if we choose to hide it/alter it it then to God is our reckoning.
PS if you manage to find this word "alaa llahi" can someone please let me know. i have tried searching the Quran but i didn't find any other word like it"

so i don't understand because the translation for blessing is baraka?? with the root words Ba, Ra, Kaf.
anyways so i came across another verse 2:105
مَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَلَا الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَنْ يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ
Ma yawaddu allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi wala almushrikeena an yunazzala AAalaykum min khayrin min rabbikum waAllahu yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

tabaraka Allahu or taAAala Allahu
examine these verses... 7:54
Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yughshee allayla alnnahara yatlubuhu hatheethan waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujooma musakhkharatin biamrihi ala lahu alkhalqu waalamru tabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
the phrase Tabaraka Allahu - is translates as *Most Exalted is God* using Rk translation
Your Lord is the one GOD, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then assumed all authority. The night overtakes the day, as it pursues it persistently, and the sun, the moon, and the stars are committed to serve by His command. Absolutely, He controls all creation and all commands. Most Exalted is GOD, Lord of the universe.
in another verse 23:116
فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ
FataAAala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alkareemi
The phrase Fa TaAAala Allahu is translated as "Most Exalted is God" using Rk translation
and in 27:63
مَّنْ يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ أَإِلَهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Amman yahdeekum fee thulumati albarri waalbahri waman yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi ailahun maAAa Allahi taAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoona
Who is the One who guides you in the darkness of land and sea? Who is the One who sends the winds with good news, signaling His mercy? Is it another god with GOD? Most exalted is GOD, above having any partner.
The phrase TaAAala Allahu is used as "Most Exalted is God"
in verse 40:64
لَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَالسَّمَاءَ بِنَاءً وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Allahu allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda qararan waalssamaa binaan wasawwarakum faahsana suwarakum warazaqakum mina alttayyibati thalikumu Allahu rabbukum fatabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
GOD is the One who rendered the earth habitable for you, and the sky a formidable structure, and He designed you, and designed you well. He is the One who provides you with good provisions. Such is GOD your Lord; Most Exalted is GOD, Lord of the universe.
the phrase tabaraka allahu is translated as "Most Exalted is God"
in 43:85 is used "Watabaraka" for Most Exalted
Most Exalted is the One who possesses all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. With Him is the knowledge about the Hour (end of the world), and to Him you will be returned.
in 55:78 - " tabaraka" is used for Most exalted
Most exalted is the name of your Lord, Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
in 67:1 - "tabaraka" is used for Most Exalted
Most exalted is the One in whose hands is all kingship, and He is Omnipotent.
so which is it?
i am inclined to go "Tabaraka Allahu" is "Most Blessed is God" based on my notion that baraka is blessing and tabaraka will be a derivate of baraka.
see the conjoining of arabic letters ba - ra - kaf in http://corpus.quran.com/qurandictionary.jsp?q=brk
it reminds me og older scriptures when it reads Blessed be the name of the Lord e,g Psalm 113:2

challenge??
some issues highlighted for me at work today and i dont know how to reconcile them.
we had a bonus talk to which i was told what my performance contribution is 5.2( something like that - versus what a performing 5.76( something like that) candidate will be.
now i am grateful - God knows that i am - but i was dumbstruck and i didnt think or process the thoughts clearly.
in the first instance Lord i am sorry because what i should have said was my Lord allow me to be appreciate of the blessings that you have bestowed on me and to do the righteous works that pleases you. i should have added My Lord possessor of sovereignty who gives to whomever He wills and withholds from whomever He wills. My provider thank you.
that i got something is a blessing from god and i am eternally grateful..
what i think perturbed me is the unspoken or assumed implication by me that i am under-performing.
and i am asking myself - that is something that is hard for me to swallow.
i would have thought at the very least that i am hitting my targets
but i dont understand it and i dont want to analyse it till i have the facts at hand.
i am resolved Gw to ask for how calculations are - what is 5.2% and how have they arrived at this
likewise what is 5.76 % - what are the measures involved.
it is not about the money - Lord knows - poor as i am i didnt even think about or consider a bonus so i am grateful but it is about my worth i think - in terms of effort i put in at work beyond what is required.
i would hate to think that i am giving less than their money's worth to me - as that is unease for me.
but if i am being taken for granted then that will be unease for me.
it is not a new way of working - it is the same way of working only that it has been re-branded - there is more scope for investigative work as opposed to before where one is on a tight leash -
i dont buy into re-branding but i am for one call spade a spade and but efficient working towards a goal -
i am thinking am i being penalized for how i work - if it i snot satisfactory then tell me and i will try to identify the issue and resolve it - am i being penalized for being fast - i multitask that is how i work, it is not right for everyone but its right for me - i am not asking to be someone else i am asking to be me.
lord this is not arrogance by any way at all - cos i am upset by it the thought that i am under performing - there is a pride that i take in myself in my work that i do my best and i do my job that i dont slack and i give more than they ask - and i guess that is what is being challenged.
the areas of measurements the challenge is what i have to consider.
we had a bonus talk to which i was told what my performance contribution is 5.2( something like that - versus what a performing 5.76( something like that) candidate will be.
now i am grateful - God knows that i am - but i was dumbstruck and i didnt think or process the thoughts clearly.
in the first instance Lord i am sorry because what i should have said was my Lord allow me to be appreciate of the blessings that you have bestowed on me and to do the righteous works that pleases you. i should have added My Lord possessor of sovereignty who gives to whomever He wills and withholds from whomever He wills. My provider thank you.

praise glorify - wasabih bi hamdi -working document.
50:39
فَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ
Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla alghuroobi
RK - Therefore, be patient in the face of their utterances, and praise and glorify your Lord before sunrise, and before sunset.
50:40 وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ
Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waadbara alssujoodi
RK - During the night you shall meditate on His name, and after prostrating.
so far i am of the opinion - this is the first mention of glorification/praise to God.. reading in the order of revelation.
i could be wrong - this is a working document so bear that in mind..i know what i am thinking but i cannot formulate it into logical thoughts yet...
firstly the arabic order reads - my views - glorify and praise - wasabih bihamdi.. on my limited knowledge that sabbih is a derivative of glorify and hamdi is for praise..
why i sthe translation then praise before glorify..
the same hapens in 20:130 for which the first part is the same as 50:39
فَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا وَمِنْ آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ
وَأَطْرَافَ النَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَ 20:130
Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla ghuroobiha waminanai allayli fasabbih waatrafa alnnahari laAAallaka tarda
RK - Therefore, be patient in the face of their utterances, and praise and glorify your Lord before sunrise and before sunset. And during the night glorify Him, as well as at both ends of the day, that you may be happy.

Awwabun
38:17
اصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Isbir AAala ma yaqooloona waothkur AAabdana dawooda tha alaydi innahu awwabun
RK translation: Be patient in the face of their utterances, and remember our servant David, the resourceful; he was obedient.
38:30 -
وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Wawahabna lidawuda sulaimana niAAma alAAbdu innahu awwabun
RK translation - To David we granted Solomon; a good and obedient servant.
38:44
وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِبْ بِهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Wakhuth biyadika dighthan faidrib bihi wala tahnath inna wajadnahu sabiran niAAma alAAbdu innahu awwabun
RK translation - Now, you shall travel the land and preach the message, to fulfill your pledge." We found him steadfast. What a good servant! He was a submitter.
in relation to the above verses. i am particularly interested in the arabic - innahu awwabum - which is the last phrase on the above verses.
but the translation is different.
Or
38:19
وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوَّابٌ
Waalttayra mahshooratan kullun lahu awwabun
RK translation - Also the birds were committed to serve him; all were obedient to him.
even interesting is from the arabic - on verses 30+44 niAAma alAAbdu et all is similar to both verses - but it is translated differently.
