Khalifa
We sent down to you this scripture, truthfully; you shall worship GOD, devoting your religion to Him alone.
Yusuf Ali
Verily it is We Who have revealed the Book to thee in Truth: so serve God, offering Him sincere devotion.
Pickthal
Lo! We have revealed the Scripture unto thee (Muhammad) with truth; so worship Allah, making religion pure for Him (only).
Shakir
Surely We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, therefore serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience.
Sher Ali
Surely, it is WE Who have revealed the Book to thee comprising the whole truth, so worship Allah, being sincere to HIM in obedience.
"Progressive Muslims"
We have sent down to you the Scripture with truth, so serve God while devoting the system to Him.
39:3
Khalifa
Absolutely, the religion shall be devoted to GOD alone. Those who set up idols beside Him say, "We idolize them only to bring us closer to GOD; for they are in a better position!" GOD will judge them regarding their disputes. GOD does not guide such liars, disbelievers.
Yusuf Ali
Is it not to God that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than God (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to God." Truly God will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But God guides not such as are false and ungrateful.
Pickthal
Surely pure religion is for Allah only. And those who choose protecting friends beside Him (say): We worship them only that they may bring us near unto Allah. Lo! Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Lo! Allah guideth not him who is a liar, an ingrate.
Shakir
Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful.
Sher Ali
Remember, it is to Allah alone that sincere obedience is due. And those who take as protectors others beside HIM, say, `We serve them only that they may bring us near to Allah in station.' Surely, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Surely, Allah guides not him who is an ungrateful liar.
"Progressive Muslims"
Absolutely, to God is the devoted system. And those who set up allies beside Him say: "We only serve them so that they may bring us closer to God." God will judge between them regarding their disputes. Surely, God does not guide him who is a liar, a rejecter.

If GOD wanted to have a son, He could have chosen whomever He willed from among His creations. Be He glorified; He is GOD, the One, the Supreme.
Yusuf Ali
Had God wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He doth create: but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.) He is God, the One, the Irresistible.
Pickthal
If Allah had willed to choose a son, He could have chosen what He would of that which He hath created. Be He Glorified! He is Allah, the One, the Absolute.
Shakir
If Allah desire to take a son to Himself, He will surely choose those He pleases from what He has created. Glory be to Him: He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all).
Sher Ali
If Allah had desired to take to Himself a son, HE could have chosen whom HE pleased out of what HE creates. Holy is HE ! HE is Allah, the One, the Most Supreme.

39:5
Khalifa
He created the heavens and the earth truthfully. He rolls the night over the day, and rolls the day over the night. He committed the sun and the moon, each running for a finite period. Absolutely, He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.
Yusuf Ali
He created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): He makes the Night overlap the Day, and the Day overlap the Night: He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law): Each one follows a course for a time appointed. Is not He the Exalted in Power - He Who forgives again and again?
Pickthal
He hath created the heavens and the earth with truth. He maketh night to succeed day, and He maketh day to succeed night, and He constraineth the sun and the moon to give service, each running on for an appointed term. Is not He the Mighty, the Forgiver ?
Shakir
He has created the heavens and the earth with the truth; He makes the night cover the day and makes the day overtake the night, and He has made the sun and the moon subservient; each one runs on to an assigned term; now surely He is the Mighty, the great Forgiver.
Sher Ali
HE created the heavens and the earth in accordance with the requirements of wisdom. HE makes the night to cover the day, and HE makes the day to cover the night; and he has pressed the sun and the moon into service; each pursues its course until an appointed time. Remember, it is HE alone Who is the Mighty, the Great Forgiver.
"Progressive Muslims"

Khalifa
He created you from one person, then created from him his mate. He sent down to you eight kinds of livestock. He creates you in your mothers' bellies, creation after creation, in trimesters of darkness. Such is GOD your Lord. To Him belongs all sovereignty. There is no other god beside Him. How could you deviate?
Yusuf Ali
He created you (all) from a single person: then created, of like nature, his mate; and he sent down for you eight head of cattle in pairs: He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness. such is God, your Lord and Cherisher: to Him belongs (all) dominion. There is no god but He: then how are ye turned away (from your true Centre)?
Pickthal
He created you from one being, then from that (being) He made its mate; and He hath provided for you of cattle eight kinds. He created you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in a threefold gloom. Such is Allah, your Lord. His is the Sovereignty. There is no God save Him. How then are ye turned away ?
Shakir
He has created you from a single being, then made its mate of the same (kind), and He has made for you eight of the cattle in pairs. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers -- a creation after a creation -- in triple darkness; that is Allah your Lord, His is the kingdom; there is no god but He; whence are you then turned away?
Sher Ali
HE created you from a single being; then from that HE made its mate; and HE has sent down for you of the cattle eight pairs. HE creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, through three stages of darkness. This is Allah, your Lord. HIS is the Kingdom. There is no god but HE. Whither then are you being turned away ?
"Progressive Muslims"
He created you from one person, then He made from it its mate. And He sent down to you eight pairs of the livestock. 39:7
Khalifa
If you disbelieve, GOD does not need anyone. But He dislikes to see His servants make the wrong decision. If you decide to be appreciative, He is pleased for you. No soul bears the sins of any other soul. Ultimately, to your Lord is your return, then He will inform you of everything you had done. He is fully aware of the innermost thoughts.
Yusuf Ali
If ye reject (God), Truly God hath no need of you; but He liketh not ingratitude from His servants: if ye are grateful, He is pleased with you. No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. In the end, to your Lord is your Return, when He will tell you the truth of all that ye did (in this life). for He knoweth well all that is in (men's) hearts.
Pickthal
If ye are thankless, yet Allah is Independent of you, though He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen; and if ye are thankful He is pleased therewith for you. No laden soul will bear another's load. Then unto your Lord is your return; and He will tell you what ye used to do. Lo! He knoweth what is in the breasts (of men).
Shakir
If you are ungrateful, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient above all need of you; and He does not like ungratefulness in His servants; and if you are grateful, He likes it in you; and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another; then to your Lord is your return, then will He inform you of what you did; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the breasts.
Sher Ali
If you are ungrateful, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, being independent of you. And HE is not pleased with ingratitude in HIS servants. But if you are grateful, HE likes it in you. And no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return; and HE will inform you of what you have been doing. Surely, HE knows full well all that is hidden in the breasts.
"Progressive Muslims"
If you reject, then God does not need anyone. And He dislikes disbelief for His servants. And if you are appreciative, then He is pleased for you. And none shall bear the burdens of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you of everything you had done. He is fully aware of what is inside the chests.

Khalifa
When the human being is afflicted, he implores his Lord, sincerely devoted to Him. But as soon as He blesses him, he forgets his previous imploring, sets up idols to rank with GOD and to divert others from His path. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief temporarily; you have incurred the hellfire."
Yusuf Ali
When some trouble toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set up rivals unto God, thus misleading others from God's Path. Say, "Enjoy thy blasphemy for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!"
Pickthal
And when some hurt toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning unto Him (repentant). Then, when He granteth him a boon from Him he forgetteth that for which he cried unto Him before, and setteth up rivals to Allah that he may beguile (men) from his way. Say (O Muhammad, unto such an one): Take pleasure in thy disbelief a while. Lo! thou art of the owners of the Fire.
Shakir
And when distress afflicts a man he calls upon his Lord turning to Him frequently; then when He makes him possess a favor from Him, he forgets that for which he called upon Him before, and sets up rivals to Allah that he may cause (men) to stray off from His path. Say: Enjoy yourself in your ungratefulness a little, surely you are of the inmates of the fire.
Sher Ali
And when an affliction befalls man, he calls upon his Lord, turning penitently to HIM. Then, when HE confers upon him a favour from Himself, he forgets what he used to pray for before, and starts assigning rivals to Allah, that he may lead people astray from HIS way. Say, `Profit from thy disbelief a little; while in the end thou art, surely, of the inmates of the Fire.'
"Progressive Muslims"
And when the human being is afflicted with adversity, he implores his Lord, sincerely devoted to Him. But then, when He grants him a blessing from Him, he forgets his previous imploring, and sets up equals with God, in order to mislead others from His path. Say: "Enjoy your disbelief for a while; for you are of the dwellers of the Fire."

Is it not better to be one of those who meditate in the night, prostrating and staying up, being aware of the Hereafter, and seeking the mercy of their Lord? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.
Yusuf Ali
Is one who worships devoutly during the hour of the night prostrating himself or standing (in adoration), who takes heed of the Hereafter, and who places his hope in the Mercy of his Lord - (like one who does not)? Say: "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition.
Pickthal
Is he who payeth adoration in the watches of the night, prostrate and standing, bewaring of the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, (to be accounted equal with a disbeliever) ? Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Are those who know equal with those who know not ? But only men of understanding will pay heed.

Sher Ali

Yusuf Ali
Say: "O ye my servants who believe! Fear your Lord, good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world. Spacious is God's earth! those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure!"
Pickthal
Say: O My bondmen who believe! Observe your duty to your Lord. For those who do good in this world there is good, and Allah's earth is spacious. Verily the steadfast will be paid their wages without stint.

Yusuf Ali
"Serve ye what ye will besides him." Say: "Truly, those in loss are those who lose their own souls and their People on the Day of Judgment: Ah! that is indeed the (real and) evident Loss!
Pickthal
Then worship what ye will beside Him. Say: The losers will be those who lose themselves and their housefolk on the Day of Resurrection. Ah, that will be the manifest loss!
Shakir
Serve then what you like besides Him. Say: The losers surely are those who shall have lost themselves and their families on the day of resurrection; now surely that is the clear loss.

They will have masses of fire on top of them, and under them. GOD thus alerts His servants: O My servants, you shall reverence Me.
Yusuf Ali
They shall have Layers of Fire above them, and Layers (of Fire) below them: with this doth God warn off his servants: "O My Servants! then fear ye Me!"
Pickthal
They have an awning of fire above them and beneath them a dais (of fire). With this doth Allah appal His bondmen. O My bondmen, therefor fear Me!
Shakir
They shall have coverings of fire above them and coverings beneath them; with that Allah makes His servants to fear, so be careful of (your duty to) Me, O My servants!
Sher Ali
They will have over them coverings of fire, and beneath them similar coverings. It is this against which Allah warns HIS servants. `O MY servants, take ME, then, for your Protector.'
"Progressive Muslims"
They will have coverings of fire above them and below them. God thus frightens His servants with it: "O My servants, you shall reverence Me."
39:17

As for those who discard the worship of all idols, and devote themselves totally to GOD alone, they have deserved happiness. Give good news to My servants.
Yusuf Ali
Those who eschew Evil,- and fall not into its worship,- and turn to God (in repentance),- for them is Good News: so announce the Good News to My Servants,-
Pickthal
And those who put away false gods lest they should worship them and turn to Allah in repentance, for them there are glad tidings. Therefor give good tidings (O Muhammad) to My bondmen

Yusuf Ali
Those who listen to the Word, and follow the best (meaning) in it: those are the ones whom God has guided, and those are the ones endued with understanding.
Pickthal
Who hear advice and follow the best thereof. Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such are men of understanding.
Shakir
Those who listen to the word, then follow the best of it; those are they whom Allah has guided, and those it is who are the men of understanding.

With regard to those who have deserved the retribution, can you save those who are already in Hell?
Yusuf Ali
Is, then, one against whom the decree of Punishment is justly due (equal to one who eschews Evil)? Wouldst thou, then, deliver one (who is) in the Fire?
Pickthal
Is he on whom the word of doom is fulfilled (to be helped), and canst thou (O Muhammad) rescue him who is in the Fire ?
Shakir
What! as for him then against whom the sentence of chastisement is due: What! can you save him who is in the fire?
Sher Ali
Can he, then, against whom the sentence of punishment has become due, be saved ? Canst thou rescue him who is in the Fire ?
"Progressive Muslims"

As for those who reverence their Lord, they will have mansions upon mansions constructed for them, with flowing streams. This is GOD's promise, and GOD never breaks His promise.
Yusuf Ali
But it is for those who fear their Lord. That lofty mansions, one above another, have been built: beneath them flow rivers (of delight): (such is) the Promise of God: never doth God fail in (His) promise.
Pickthal
But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are lofty halls with lofty halls above them, built (for them), beneath which rivers flow. (It is) a promise of Allah. Allah faileth not His promise.
Shakir
But (as for) those who are careful of (their duty to) their Lord, they shall have high places, above them higher places, built (for them), beneath which flow rivers; (this is) the promise of Allah: Allah will not fail in (His) promise.
Sher Ali
But for them who fear their Lord, there are lofty mansions, built over lofty mansions, beneath which streams flow. Allah has made that promise; and Allah breaks not HIS promise.
Progressive muslim
But those who reverence their Lord, they will have dwellings constructed in floors, with rivers flowing beneath them. This is God's promise, and God does not break the promise.

Do you not see that GOD sends down from the sky water, then places it into underground wells, then produces with it plants of various colors, then they grow until they turn yellow, then He turns them into hay? This should be a reminder for those who possess intelligence.
Yusuf Ali
Seest thou not that God sends down rain from the sky, and leads it through springs in the earth? Then He causes to grow, therewith, produce of various colours: then it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then He makes it dry up and crumble away. Truly, in this, is a Message of remembrance to men of understanding.
Pickthal
Hast thou not seen how Allah hath sent down water from the sky and hath caused it to penetrate the earth as watersprings, and afterward thereby produceth crops of divers hues; and afterward they wither and thou seest them turn yellow; then He maketh them chaff. Lo! herein verily is a reminder for men of understanding.
Shakir
Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then makes it go along in the earth in springs, then brings forth therewith herbage of various colors, then it withers so that you see it becoming yellow, then He makes it a thing crushed and broken into pieces? Most surely there is a reminder in this for the men of understanding.
Sher Ali
Hast thou not seen that Allah sends down water from the sky, and causes it to flow in springs in the earth and then brings forth thereby herbage of diverse hues ? Then it dries up and thou seest it turn to yellow; then HE reduces it to broken straw. In that, verily, is a reminder for men of understanding.
"Progressive Muslims"
Do you not see that God sends down water from the sky, and causes it to become streams under the earth, then He produces with it plants of various colors, then they grow until they turn yellow, then He turns them lifeless? This should be a reminder for those who possess intelligence.
39:22
Khalifa
If GOD renders one's heart content with Submission, he will be following a light from his Lord. Therefore, woe to those whose hearts are hardened against GOD's message; they have gone far astray.
Yusuf Ali
Is one whose heart God has opened to Islam, so that he has received Enlightenment from God, (no better than one hard-hearted)? Woe to those whose hearts are hardened against celebrating the praises of God! they are manifestly wandering (in error)!
Pickthal
Is he whose bosom Allah hath expanded for Al-Islam, so that he followeth a light from his Lord, (as he who disbelieveth) ? Then woe unto those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allah. Such are in plain error.
Shakir
What! is he whose heart Allah has opened for Islam so that he is in a light from his Lord (like the hard-hearted)? Nay, woe to those whose hearts are hard against the remembrance of Allah; those are in clear error.
Sher Ali
Is he then whose bosom Allah has opened for the acceptance of Islam, so that he possesses a light from his Lord, like him who is grouping in the darkness of disbelief ? Woe, then, to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah ! They are in manifest error.
"Progressive Muslims"
If one opens his chest to surrender, then he will be on a light from his Lord. So woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembering God. They have gone far astray.

GOD has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for GOD's message. Such is GOD's guidance; He bestows it upon whoever wills (to be guided). As for those sent astray by GOD, nothing can guide them.
Yusuf Ali
God has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself, (yet) repeating (its teaching in various aspects): the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of God's praises. Such is the guidance of God: He guides therewith whom He pleases, but such as God leaves to stray, can have none to guide.
Pickthal
Allah hath (now) revealed the fairest of statements, a Scripture consistent, (wherein promises of reward are) paired (with threats of punishment), whereat doth creep the flesh of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah's reminder. Such is Allah's guidance, wherewith He guideth whom He will. And him whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no guide.
Shakir
Allah has revealed the best announcement, a book conformable in its various parts, repeating, whereat do shudder the skins of those who fear their Lord, then their skins and their hearts become pliant to the remembrance of Allah; this is Allah's guidance, He guides with it whom He pleases; and (as for) him whom Allah makes err, there is no guide for him.
Sher Ali
Allah has sent down the Best Discourse - a Book, whose verses are mutually supporting and repeated in diverse forms. The skins of those, who fear their Lord, do creep at its recital, then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of Allah. Such is the guidance of Allah. HE guides therewith whom HE pleases. And he whom Allah adjudges astray - he shall have no guide.
"Progressive Muslims"
God has sent down the best narration, a Scripture that is similar with two paths. The skins of those who reverence their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to the remembrance of God. Such is God's guidance; He guides with it whoever He wills. And for whomever God misguides, then none can guide him.

What is better than saving one's face from the terrible retribution on the Day of Resurrection? The transgressors will be told, "Taste the consequences of what you earned."
Yusuf Ali
Is, then, one who has to fear the brunt of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment (and receive it) on his face, (like one guarded therefrom)? It will be said to the wrong- doers: "Taste ye (the fruits of) what ye earned!"
Pickthal
Is he then, who will strike his face against the awful doom upon the Day of Resurrection (as he who doeth right) ? And it will be said unto the wrong-doers: Taste what ye used to earn.
Shakir
Is he then who has to guard himself with his own person against the evil chastisement on the resurrection day? And it will be said to the unjust: Taste what you earned.
Sher Ali
Is he, then, who has only his own face to shield from the evil punishment on the Day of Resurrection, like him who is secure ? And it will be said to the wrongdoers, `Taste ye the recompense of what you used to earn.'
"Progressive Muslims"
What is better than saving one's face from the terrible retribution on the Day of Resurrection? The transgressors will be told: "Taste the consequences of what you earned."

Others before them have disbelieved and, consequently, the retribution afflicted them whence they never expected.
Yusuf Ali
Those before them (also) rejected (revelation), and so the Punishment came to them from directions they did not perceive.
Pickthal
Those before them denied, and so the doom came on them whence they knew not.
Shakir
Those before them rejected (prophets), therefore there came to them the chastisement from whence they perceived not.
Sher Ali
Those, who were before them, rejected Our Messengers, so the punishment came upon them whence they knew not.
"Progressive Muslims"
Those before them have denied, and consequently, the retribution came to them from where they never expected.

GOD has condemned them to humiliation in this life, and the retribution in the Hereafter will be far worse, if they only knew.
Yusuf Ali
So God gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they only knew!
Pickthal
Thus Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of the world, and verily the doom of the Hereafter will be greater if they did but know.
Shakir
So Allah made them taste the disgrace in this world's life, and certainly the punishment of the hereafter is greater; did they but know!
Sher Ali

If indeed thou ask them who it is that created the heavens and the earth, they would be sure to say, "God". If the human is touched by adversity, he implores us, but as soon as we bestow a blessing upon him, he says, "I attained this because of my cleverness!" Indeed, this is only a test, but most of them do not know.

Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us: But when We bestow a favour upon him as from Ourselves, he says, "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge (I have)!" Nay, but this is but a trial, but most of them understand not!
Pickthal
Now when hurt toucheth a man he crieth unto Us, and afterward when We have granted him a boon from Us, he saith: Only by force of knowledge I obtained it. Nay, but it is a test. But most of them know not.

They suffered the consequences of their evil works. Similarly, the transgressors among the present generation will suffer the consequences of their evil works; they cannot escape.

Nay, the evil results of their Deeds overtook them. And the wrong-doers of this (generation)- the evil results of their Deeds will soon overtake them (too), and they will never be able to frustrate (Our Plan)!
Pickthal
But the evils that they earned smote them; and such of these as do wrong, the evils that they earn will smite them; they cannot escape.
Shakir
So there befell them the evil (consequences) of what they earned; and (as for) those who are unjust from among these, there shall befall them the evil (consequences) of what they earn, and they shall not escape.

Yes indeed, My revelations came to you, but you denied them and turned arrogant, and became a disbeliever.

On the Day of Resurrection you will see the faces of those who lied about GOD covered with misery. Is Hell not the right retribution for the arrogant ones?
Yusuf Ali
On the Day of Judgment wilt thou see those who told lies against God;- their faces will be turned black; Is there not in Hell an abode for the Haughty?
Pickthal
And on the Day of Resurrection thou (Muhammad) seest those who lied concerning Allah with their faces blackened. Is not the home of the scorners in hell ?
Shakir
And on the day of resurrection you shall see those who lied against Allah; their faces shall be blackened. Is there not in hell an abode for the proud?
Sher Ali
And on the Day of Resurrection, thou wilt see those who lied against Allah that their faces shall be overcast with gloom. Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud ?
"Progressive Muslims"
And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about God their faces will be blackened. Is there not an abode in Hell for the arrogant ones?
39:61
Khalifa
And GOD will save those who have maintained righteousness; He will reward them. No harm will touch them, nor will they have any grief.
Yusuf Ali
But God will deliver the righteous to their place of salvation: no evil shall touch them, nor shall they grieve.
Pickthal
And Allah delivereth those who ward off (evil) because of their deserts. Evil toucheth them not, nor do they grieve.
Shakir
And Allah shall deliver those who guard (against evil) with their achievement; evil shall not touch them, nor shall they grieve.
Sher Ali
And Allah will deliver the righteous from all troubles and will confer success upon them; evil shall not touch them, nor shall they grieve.
"Progressive Muslims"
And God will save those who were righteous as their reward. No harm will touch them, nor will they grieve.

GOD is the Creator of all things, and He is in full control of all things.
Yusuf Ali
God is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs.
Pickthal
Allah is Creator of all things, and He is Guardian over all things.
Shakir
Allah is the Creator of every thing and He has charge over every thing.
Sher Ali
Allah is the creator of all things, and HE is Guardian over all things.
"Progressive Muslims"
God is the Creator of all things, and He is Guardian over all things.

To Him belongs all decisions in the heavens and the earth, and those who disbelieve in GOD's revelations are the real losers.
Yusuf Ali
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the Signs of God,- it is they who will be in loss.
Pickthal
His are the keys of the heavens and the earth, and they who disbelieve the revelations of Allah - such are they who are the losers.
Shakir
His are the treasures of the heavens and the earth; and (as for) those who disbelieve in the communications of Allah, these it is that are the losers.
Sher Ali
TO HIM belong the keys of the heavens and the earth; and as for those who disbelieve in the Signs of Allah, these it is who are the losers.
"Progressive Muslims"
To Him belongs the possessions of the heavens and the earth. And those who disbelieve in God's revelations, they are the losers.
39:64
Khalifa
Say, "Is it other than GOD you exhort me to worship, O you ignorant ones?"
Yusuf Ali
Say: "Is it some one other than God that ye order me to worship, O ye ignorant ones?"
Pickthal
Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): Do ye bid me serve other than Allah ? O ye fools!
Shakir
Say: What! Do you then bid me serve others than Allah, O ignorant men?
Sher Ali
Say, `Is it other gods than Allah that ye bid me worship, O ignorant ones ?'
"Progressive Muslims"
Say: "Do you order me to serve other than God, O you ignorant ones?"
39:65
Khalifa
It has been revealed to you, and to those before you that if you ever commit idol worship, all your works will be nullified, and you will be with the losers.
Yusuf Ali
But it has already been revealed to thee,- as it was to those before thee,- "If thou wert to join (gods with God), truly fruitless will be thy work (in life), and thou wilt surely be in the ranks of those who lose (all spiritual good)".
Pickthal
And verily it hath been revealed unto thee as unto those before thee (saying): If thou ascribe a partner to Allah thy work will fail and thou indeed wilt be among the losers.
Shakir
And certainly, it has been revealed to you and to those before you: Surely if you associate (with Allah), your work would certainly come to naught and you would certainly be of the losers.
Sher Ali
And, verily it has been revealed to thee as unto those before thee, `If thou associate partners with Allah, thy work shall, surely, come to naught and thou shalt certainly be of the losers.'
"Progressive Muslims"
And He has inspired to you and to those before you, that if you set up partners, He will nullify all your work, and you will be of the losers.
39:66
Khalifa
Therefore, you shall worship GOD alone, and be appreciative.
Yusuf Ali
Nay, but worship God, and be of those who give thanks.
Pickthal
Nay, but Allah must thou serve, and be among the thankful!
Shakir
Nay! but serve Allah alone and be of the thankful.
Sher Ali
Aye, worship Allah and be thou among the grateful.
"Progressive Muslims"
Therefore, you shall serve God, and be among the appreciative.

They can never fathom the greatness of GOD. The whole earth is within His fist on the Day of Resurrection. In fact, the universes are folded within His right hand. Be He glorified; He is much too high above needing any partners.
Yusuf Ali
No just estimate have they made of God, such as is due to Him: On the Day of Judgment the whole of the earth will be but His handful, and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand: Glory to Him! High is He above the Partners they attribute to Him!
Pickthal
And they esteem not Allah as He hath the right to be esteemed, when the whole earth is His handful on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens are rolled in His right hand. Glorified is He and High Exalted from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him).
Shakir
And they have not honored Allah with the honor that is due to Him; and the whole earth shall be in His grip on the day of resurrection and the heavens rolled up in His right hand; glory be to Him, and may He be exalted above what they associate (with Him).
Sher Ali
And they have not formed a true concept of the attributes of Allah. And the entire earth will be under HIS complete control on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens rolled up in HIS right hand. Glory be to HIM and exalted is HE above that which they associate with HIM.
"Progressive Muslims"
And they have not given God His true worth. The whole earth is within His fist on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Be He glorified; He is much too high above what they set up.

The horn will be blown, whereupon everyone in the heavens and the earth will be struck unconscious, except those who will be spared by GOD. Then it will be blown another time, whereupon they will all rise up, looking.
Yusuf Ali
The Trumpet will (just) be sounded, when all that are in the heavens and on earth will swoon, except such as it will please God (to exempt). Then will a second one be sounded, when, behold, they will be standing and looking on!
Pickthal
And the trumpet is blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth swoon away, save him whom Allah willeth. Then it is blown a second time, and behold them standing waiting!
Shakir
And the trumpet shall be blown, so all those that are in the heavens and all those that are in the earth shall swoon, except such as Allah please; then it shall be blown again, then lo! they shall stand up awaiting.
Sher Ali
And the trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth will fall down in a swoon, except those whom Allah will be pleased to spare. Then it will be blown a second time, and lo ! they will be standing, awaiting judgement.

Pickthal
And the earth shineth with the light of her Lord, and the Book is set up, and the prophets and the witnesses are brought, and it is judged between them with truth, and they are not wronged.
Shakir
And the earth shall beam with the light of its Lord, and the Book shall be laid down, and the prophets and the witnesses shall be brought up, and judgment shall be given between them with justice, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.

And every soul shall be paid back fully what it has done, and He knows best what they do.

But the word of doom of disbelievers is fulfilled.
Shakir
And those who disbelieve shall be driven to hell in companies; until, when they come to it, its doors shall be opened, and the keepers of it shall say to them: Did not there come to you apostles from among you reciting to you the communications of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They shall say: Yea! But the sentence of punishment was due against the unbelievers.

Spirituality VS Sexuality
how does one reconcile sexuality and spirituality?
for a long time I believed that it was one or the other
the old age battle of good and evil..
hmm
today at 28,
it has taken me a bit of time to realise that i do not need to...
yes i am a sexual being as much as i am a spiritual being..
the trick is to recognise and allow which ever part or state i am in to flourish...
it means i am able to collect sex tips, research and file them as i was doing before without feeling guilty
it means i am able to research sexual awakening... theory only by the way... with the same gusto as i do when attacking my prayers
It means knowing that I am not slave to my body that i am able to step back when things begin to bother me, when the horns start attacking me
It means that i can focus on my spirituality and serve my God as long as i know that i maintain morality and righteousness...
It means that i understand the powers of my sexuality and i dont use them to hinder/oppress other people...
it means that i am able to think of sex without feeling guilty...
I have always said that I am naturally perveted by nature becasue while growing up the rate at which i think of sex is alarming and it is a part of me that i have always been running from..
My earliest memory is one of watching a film which incited me to an extent of serious bodily harm.
I understand that my mind is perverted but i also understand that i have to get it under control.....
Growing up and not understanding this part of me has led me down the path of self manipulation and explorations - when i could not control the urges i felt and when i let loose my imaginations aon this yeye girls' reality...
I started my journey quite young...at age of 7, these feelings have been stirring inside of me and unable to talk about it , unable to ask for help i just went along with whatever i went along with....self exploration and manipulation... secret longings and desires... everything was bodily pleasure, bodily pleasure,,, right into the age of 24/25.
Guilty pleasures of doing and knowing that it has to be put under control.. but not understanding how.
The mind shall never be slave to the body rather! the mind must always have the upper hand....
my outlook is weird and is not standard, its is just a case of logic and what comes comes,
that being, I have strict rules on what i can and cannot do.... the mind being allowed to flourish in unimaginable concocted things- no restrictions
Adetutu you are growing up.... and you cannot be a slave top your body. God willing everything will be alright.
Ok so that being said and this status being realised, i can now be me and allow all parts of who i am to flourish....
I do not mean to incite, nor do i mean attract attention, I just want to be me...
for a long time I believed that it was one or the other

salat: an interesting read...
How Can We Observe The Salaat Prayers By Following The Quran Alone?"
Edip Yuksel (yuksel@yuksel.org)
--------------------------------------
"How can we observe the Salaat prayers by following the Quran alone?" is a favorite question among Sunni and Shiite Muslims who follow derivative texts, religious instruction, teachings and laws, all of which are written by men. With this question, both sects try to justify the necessity and proliferation of contradictory sectarian teachings, medieval Arab culture, oppressive laws filled with prohibitions and regulations--all falsely attributed to God and His prophet.
As a result, Monotheism is redefined as a "Limited Partnership", in which the recognition and submission to God alone becomes an oxymoron; a contradiction in terms in which other 'partners' are submitted to and accepted by these 'believers.' The most common set-up for Sunni shirk is: the Quran (God) + hadiths and sunnah (messenger) + the practice of the Prophet's companions + the practice of the companions of the Prophet's companions + the opinions of emams (qiyas and ijtihad) + consensus of "ulama" in a particular sect (ijma') + the comments and opinions of their students + the comments and opinions of early "ulama" + the comments and opinions of later "ulama" + the fatwas of living "ulama."
In Shiite version of shirk, in addition to the aforementioned partners, the 12 Infallible Emams (all relatives and descendants of the Prophet Muhammad starting with Ali) and the living substitute emam is added to the board of directors of the Holy Limited Partnership. The Quran is usually considered an ambigious book and is basically used for their justification of this "shirk," that is, setting partners with God. (For an extensive argument on this subject please see "19 Questions For Muslim Scholars" at http://www.moslem.org/yuksel).
Islam, which means Submission, is the state of mind of all people who submit to God alone. All messengers, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Solomon, Jesus and all previous monotheists were Submitters ( 2:131; 5:111; 7:126; 10:72,84; 22:78; 27:31,42,91; 28:53; 72:14). Thus, the only religion approved by God is Submission to God (3:19). It is God Almighty who uses this attribute to describe those who submit to His law (22:78). Islam is referred to as the "Religion of Abraham" in many verses since Meccan idol worshipers were claiming that they were following their father Abraham (2:130,135; 3:95; 4:125; 6:161; 12:37-38; 16:123; 21:73; 22:78). And Muhammad was a follower of Abraham (16:123).
Ignorant of the fact that Ibrahim observed the contact prayers (21:73), many contemporary muslims challenge God by asking where we can find the number of units in each contact prayer. Ignorant of the fact that God claimed Quran to be complete (6:11-116), they do not "see" that ALL religious practices of Submission/Monotheism were established and practiced before the Quranic revelation (8:35; 9:54; 16:123; 21:73; 22:27; 28:27). Messengers after Abraham practiced Salaat prayers, obligatory charity, and fasting (2:43; 3:43; 11:87; 19:31,59; 20:14; 28:27; 31:17).
The Meccan mushriks used to believe that they were followers of Abraham. They were not worshipping "statutes" or "icons" as claimed by hadith fabricators, but they were praying for "shafaat" (intercession) from some holy names, such as al-Lat, al-Uzza, and al-Manaat (53:19-23). So, contrary to their false assertion of being monotheists (6:23), they were accused of being "Mushrik" or associating partners to God (39:3).
Sunni and Shiite scholars subsequently fabricated stories in an attempt to erase any similarities between themselves and the mushriks, but in doing so exposed their own inherent lies in contradictory descriptions of those statutes (For instance, see Al-Kalbi's classic book on statutes: Kitab-ul Asnam). Meccan mushriks who were proud of Abraham's legend could not practice the literal observance of idol-worship; they settled for a more metaphysical satanic trap by accepting intercession and man-made religious prohibitions (6:145-150; 39:3). They were metaphysical or spiritual idol worshipers.
Meccan Mushriks, during the era of Prophet Muhammad were respecting the Sacred Masjid built by Abraham (9:19). They were practicing the contact prayers, fasting, and pilgrimage (2:183,99; 8:35the meaning of this verse is deliberately distorted in traditional translations; 9:54; 107:4-6). Although they knew Zakat (obligatory charity) they were not fulfilling their obligation (53:34). During the time of the Prophet Muhammad people knew the meaning of "Salaat", "Zakat", "Sawm", and "Hajj". They were not foreign words.
God sent the Quran in their language. As with each proceeding Book, the revelation was given in it's time, in the langauge of the people receiving the revelation. God commands and reveals in a manner which can be both understood and observed, and then He details His requirements of His people throughout His Book (16:103; 26:195). Moreover, if God wants to add a new meaning to a known word, He informs us. For instance, the Arabic word "al-din" in 1:4 is explained in 82:15-19.
Verse 16:123 is a direct proof that all religious practices in Islam were intact when Muhammad was born. Thus, he was enjoined to "follow the religion of Abraham." If I ask you to ride a bicycle, it is assumed that you know what a bicycle is and you know or learn from others how to ride it. Similarly, when God enjoined Muhammad to follow the practices of Abraham (16:123), such practices must have been well known.
Nevertheless, contrary to the popular belief, the Quran details contact prayers. While neither Quran nor hadith books contain illustration for salaat or video clips showing how the prophets observed their salat, Quran does describe prayer. The Quranic description of Salaat prayer is much more superior for the following reasons:
1. The language of the Quran is superior to the language of hadiths. Hadiths are collections of narration containing numerous different dialects and are inflicted with chronic and endemic linguistic problems. The language of the Quran is much simpler as witnessed by those who study both the Quran and hadith. The eloquence of the Quranic language is emphasized in the Quran with a repeated rhetorical question (54:17, 22, 32, 40).
2. Hadith books may contain more details. But are those details helpful and consistent with the Quran? How does a believer decide between conflicting details? Does he just pick the word of his favorite Imam? If we follow the words of a particular, favorite imam, does that meant that we are really following the practice of the prophet? For instance, you may find dozens of hadiths in Sahih Muslim narrating that the Prophet Muhammad read al-Fatiha and bowed down, without reading any additional verses from the Quran. You will find many other hadiths claiming that the Prophet read this or that chapter after al-Fatiha. There are also many conflicting hadiths regarding ablution which is the source of different rituals among sects. Hadith, more or less of them compounding God's Word with contradictory details, cannot guide to the truth. It has become a necessary evil for ignorant believers and community leaders who manipulate them.
3. Hadith books narrate a silly story regarding the times of Salaat prayer and its ordinance. The story of Mirage is one of the longest hadiths in the Bukhari. Reportedly, after getting frequent advice from Moses by going up and down between the sixth and seventh heaven, Muhammad negotiated with God to reduce the number of prayers from 50 times a day (one prayer for every 28 minutes) to 5 times a day. This hadith portrays Muhammad as a compassionate union leader saving his people from God's unmerciful and impossible demand.
SALAAT PRAYER ACCORDING TO THE QURAN
Observing Salaat prayer is frequently mentioned together with giving charity and thus emphasizing the social consciousness and communal responsibility of those who observe the prayer (2:43,83,110; 4:77; 22:78; 107:1-7).
The Salaat prayer is observed to commemorate and remember God alone (6:162; 20:14). This remembrance protects Submitters from sins and harming others (29:45). Salaat prayer should be observed continuously until death (19:31; 70:23,34).
Ablution
To observe prayer one must make ablution (4:43; 5:6). Ablution is nullified only by sexual intercourse or passing urine or defecation. Ablution remains valid even if one has passed gas, shaking hands with the opposite sex, or a woman is menstruating. A menstruating woman may observe contact prayers, contrary to superstitious cultural beliefs (5:6; 2:222; 6:114-115).

There is not a particular dress code for prayer, in fact, if you wish you can pray nude in your privacy. Covering our bodies is a social and cultural necessity aimed to protect ourselves from harassment, misunderstanding and undesired consequences (7:26; 24:31; 33:59).
Times For Prayer
Quran mentions three periods of time in conjunction with Salaat prayer. In other words, the Quran qualifies the word "Salaat" by three different temporal words: (1) Salaat-al Fajr (Morning Prayer), (2) Salaat-al Esha (Evening Prayer), (3) Salaat-al Wusta (Middle/Noon Prayer). The Morning Prayer (24:58) and Evening Prayer (24:58) should be observed at both ends of the day, that is, early part of the night (11:114) and the Middle Prayer (2:238). (We will discuss the times of Salaat prayers later in detail at the end of this article).
Direction For Prayer
For the prayer one must face the Sacred Masjid built by Abraham, the Ka'ba (2:125, 143-150; 22:26). To find the correct qibla a person should keep in mind that the world is a globe, far different from Mercator's flat map. Since the prayer during emergency and fear is reduced to one unit, in normal conditions the prayer should be at least two units and during the prayer one must dramatically reduce his/her contact with the external world (4:101-103). Prayers, unlike fasting, cannot be performed later after they are missed; they must be observed on time (4:103).
Congregational Prayer
Believers, men and women, once a week are invited to a particular location to pray together every Juma (Congregational) Day. They go back to their work and normal daily schedule after the Congregational Prayer which could be led by either man or a woman (62:9-11). The mosques or masjids should be dedicated to God alone, thus, the invitation should be restricted to worship God alone, and no other name should be inscribed on the walls of masjids and none other than God should be commemorated (72:18-20). Those who go to masjids should dress nicely since masjids are for public worship and meetings (7:31).
Position For Prayer
One should start the Salaat prayer in standing position (2:238; 3:39; 4:102) and should not change his/her place except during unusual circumstances, such as while riding or driving (2:239). Submission to God should be declared physically and symbolically by first bowing down and prostrating (4:102; 22:26; 38:24; 48:29). This physical ritual is not required at the times of emergencies, fear, and unusual circumstances (2:239).
Comprehension And Purpose Of Prayer
We must comprehend the meaning of our prayers, as these are the moments in which we communicate directly with God (4:43). We must be reverent during our contact prayers (23:2). Along with understanding what we say, we can recall one of God's attributes, depending on our need and condition during the time of our prayer (17:111). Prayer is to commemorate God, and God Alone (6:162; 20:14; 29:45). Prayer is to praise, exalt and remember His greatness, His Mercy and ultimately our dependence on each of these attributes (1:1-7; 20:14; 17:111; 2:45). So that even mentioning other names besides God's contradicts our love and dependence on Him (72:18; 29:45).
Recitation During the Salaat Prayer
Prefering the Quran for recitation has practical benefits since believers from all around the world can pray together without arguing on which language to chose or which translation to use. The chapter al-Fatiha (The Opening) is the only chapter which addresses God in its entirety and is an appropriate prayer for Salaat. For non-Arabs it should not be too difficult to learn the meaning of words in al-Fatiha, since it consists of seven short verses. Those who are unable to learn the meaning of al-Fatiha should pray in the language that he or she understands. I see no practical reason for reciting in Arabic during individually observed prayers.
We should recite Salaat prayers in moderate tone, and we should neither try to hide our prayers nor try to pray it in public for political or religious demonstration (17:111). If it is observed with congregation, we should listen to the recitation of the men or women who leads the prayer (7:204; 17:111). After completing the Salaat prayer, we should continue remembering God (4:103).
Units of Prayer
The Quran does not specicify any number of units for prayers. It leaves it to our discretion. The units of the Congragational Prayer being 2 is revealing, since it is more likely to be accurately preserved.
Funeral Prayer
Funeral prayers are not obligatory. They are observed to remember those who died as monotheists and to provide community support for their relatives.
Sectarian Innovations
There are many sectarian innovations that differ from sect to sect. Some of the innovations are: combining the times of prayers, performing the prayers omitted at their proper times, shortening the prayers during normal trips, adding extra prayers such as "sunnah" and "nawafil," innovating a paid cleric occupation to lead the prayers, prohibiting women from leading the prayers, while sitting reciting a prayer "at-Tahiyatu" which addresses to the Prophet Muhammad as he is alive and omnipresent, adding Muhammad's name to the Shahada, reciting zumm-us Sura (extra chapters) after the al-Fatiha, indulging in sectarian arguments on details of how to hold your hands and fingers, washing mouth and nose as elements of taking ablution, brushing the teeth with "misvak" (a dry branch of a three beaten into fibers at one end as a toothbrush) just before starting the prayers, wearing turbans or scarves to receive more credits...
HOW MANY PRAYERS A DAY?
Only three Contact Prayers are mentioned by name in the Quran. In other words, the word "salaat" is qualified with descriptive words in three instances. These are:
1. Salaat-al Fajr-DAWN PRAYER (24:58; 11:114). 2. Salaat-al Esha-EVENING PRAYER (24:58; 17:78; 11:114) 3. Salaat-al Wusta- MIDDLE PRAYER (2:238; 17:78)
All of the verses that define the times of the prayers are attributable to one of these three prayers. Now let's see the related verses:
DAWN & EVENING PRAYERS by their names:
". . . This is be to be done in three instances: before the DAWN PRAYER, at noon when you change your clothes to rest, and after the EVENING PRAYER. . ." (24:58).
For other usage of the word "esha" (evening) see: 12:16; 79:46
The times of DAWN & EVENING PRAYERS defined:
"You shall observe the contact prayers at both ends of the daylight, that is, during the adjacent hours of the night. . . " (11:114)
Traditional translators and commentators consider the last clause "zulfan minal layl" of this verse as a seperate prayer indicating to the "night" prayer. However, we consider that clause not as an addition but as an explanation of the previous ambigious clause; it explains the temporal direction of the ends of the day. The limits of "Nahar" (daylight) is marked by two distinct points: sunrise and sunset. In other words, two prayers should be observed not just after sunrise and before senset, but before sunrise and after sunset.
Furthermore, the traditional understanding runs into the problem of contradicting the practice of the very tradition it intend to promote. Traditionally, both morning and evening prayers are observed in a time period that Quranically is considered "LaYL" (night) since Layl starts from sunset and ends at sunrise. The word "Layl" in Arabic is more comprehensive than the word "night" used in English.
If the expression "tarafayin nahar" (both ends of the day) refers to morning and evening paryers which are part of "Layl" (night), then, the last clause cannot be describing another prayer time.
The time of NOON and EVENING PRAYER defined.
"You shall observe the contact prayer when the sun goes down until the darkness of the night. You shall also observe the Quran at dawn. Reading the Quran at dawn is witnessed." (17:78).
The decline of the sun can be understood either its decline from the zenith marking the start of the Noon prayer or its decline behind the horizon marking the start of the Evening prayer. There are two opposing theories regarding the purpose of the usage of "duluk" (rub) in the verse; nevertheless, either understanding will not contradict the idea of 3 times a day since both Noon and Evening prayers are accepted.
MIDDLE PRAYER (Noon)
"You shall consistently observe the contact prayers, especially the MIDDLE PRAYER, and devote yourselves totally to God." (2:238).
Verse 38:32 implies that the time of the Middle prayer ends with sunset.
We can easily understand the MIDDLE prayer as a prayer between the two other prayers mentioned by name (Dawn and Evening).
The Old Testament has at least three verses referring to Contact Prayers (Salaat) and they confirm this understanding. Though we may not trust the Biblical translations verbatim, we may not consider them as errors since both internal and external consistency of the Biblical passages regarding the Contact Prayers are striking.
"And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded." (1 Samuel 20:41)
"As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." (Psalms 55:16-17) (PS: crying aloud apparently means praying with passion).
"Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did afortime." (Daniel 6:10)
The followers of Shiite sect observe 5 prayers in 3 times: morning, noon and evening. This strange practice perhaps was the result of a historical compromise with the dominant Sunni 5-times-a-day practice.

Me i dont know anything about historical compromise, nor do i know abou likelihood that it is to be preserved, i onky follow my convitionc and what God guides me to. May God guide me to his path by His will.
My position on this matter is 3 on favour of 5 because its three that is mentioned in Quran. but i also feel not to stress this point too much because i am sure i am not the first person with this delima. I think God help me with this- The Quran says something about being careful seeking for information that is not within the Quran, as it may lead us astray focussing on something that has not been mentioned delibrately- which makes me feel that everything else is a matter for each individual to do and for each individual to decide with Gods guidance.
My own questions started when someone asked " what happends in iceland when they sometimes have about mininmal daylight, how do they comprehend 5 times prayer?
this got me thinking and i postulated that the only thing constant in the world is sunrise, sunset and obviously what ever is in middle.
Some times the high afternoon, low afternoon may not be posbible, and As God is creator of the earth and its sun/moon phases, surely its is not a mistake that these things are constant, thus favouring the 3 times prayer over the 5 times prayer.
also i read in the Quran when God instructs Moses to continue with the salat- which makes me think, that Salat has been already established in moses times as was in Abrahams times.
Co-incidentally i think i read somewhere the jews do a three times prayer, mornning, afternoon and evening.
anyhow, too much of rambling i am doing at the moment..
for me i feel it does not matter at all, wether u do 3 or 5. what really matters is that you pray to God alone. Even the frequency: no of rakkahs i feel is not important and it is up to each individual to decide as well. May God guide us to His path and may He provide us with Guidance and inspiration by His will.

Dress Code
There is not a particular dress code for prayer, in fact, if you wish you can pray nude in your privacy. Covering our bodies is a social and cultural necessity aimed to protect ourselves from harassment, misunderstanding and undesired consequences (7:26; 24:31; 33:59).

for me i feel it does not matter at all, wether u do 3 or 5. what really matters is that you pray to God alone. Even the frequency: no of rakkahs i feel is not important and it is up to each individual to decide as well. May God guide us to His path and may He provide us with Guidance and inspiration by His will.

Glorifying MohammedBy Brother A. Mohammed (e-mail: A361M@aol.com)
This very common phrase (AL-SALAT ALA AL-NABI and AL-TASLEEM) derives from the following verse:
"God and His angels ‘Yossalloon ala al Nabi’, O you believers you shall ‘Salloo alayhee’ and ‘Sallemoo tasleema’." (33/56)
Since this is a clear command from God, we must surely obey it. However, and before obeying this command we must first understand the meaning of it. We notice that the verse contained two commands, the ‘Salla ala al Nabi’ and the ‘Tasleem’.
First we should inspect the present interpretation of these words among Muslims today, then we must find out whether this interpretation is in line with the one contained in the Quran. To do this, the easiest method is to ask any Muslim as to what is the meaning of the simple and widely spoken words ‘Salli ala al Nabi’.
Strangely enough, when most Muslims are asked as to what these words mean they are not really sure! The reader is welcomed to try this himself.
The simple question asked is:
‘When you say ‘Salli ala al Nabi’ what do you really mean? Are you praising the prophet? Are you imploring him so that he may intercede on your behalf on judgment day, are you praying God to grant the prophet His highest mercy? or what?
Sadly this widely repeated phrase has become a number of things except the one thing that it was really meant to be! For one thing it has become a means to break up arguments! If two Muslims get involved in a heated argument you would find one of them saying to the other:
"Why don’t you ‘tesallee ala al Nabi’?"!!!
Similarly if one Muslim is about to ask a favor of the other he often starts with the same words: "Sallee ala al Nabi", after which he would get into what he really means to say!
We must pose here and wonder, is the aim behind Allah’s command (Sura 33, verse 56) is to provide us with an effective tool to break up arguments or to facilitate the obtaining of favors from one another?!! Obviously not! The verse informs us that God and his angels do the same ‘Salla ala al Nabi’, but surely God does not get in heated arguments with anyone nor does He ask favors from anyone!
If the common Muslim has not made up his mind as to the meaning of the words he repeats many times a day, what then is the opinion of the ‘Moffasereen’ (the interpreters)?
First they will say that God has exclusively honored Muhammad when He said :
"God and His angels Yossalloon ala al Nabi (for the prophet)"
Immediately, their claim is exposed by Quranic evidence. In the Quran we read that God and His angels do the same to all believers and not just to the prophet:
"He is the one who ‘Yessallee alaikom’ (for the believers) and His angels, to deliver you out of darkness into the light" (33/43)
we also read :
"These (the believers) have deserved ‘Sallawat’ from their Lord and mercy, they are the guided ones." (2/157) …… again the same meaning,
but the matter does not end there, in Sura 9 we find God commanding the prophet to do the same for the believers :
"Take from their money a charity to purify them and sanctify them, and ‘Salli alaihom’ for your ‘Sallawat’ reassures them. God is Hearer, Omniscient." (9/103)
Now if this verb ‘Yessalli’ is done by Allah to the believers, also by the prophet to the believers, how can the interpreters say that it is an exclusive honor bestowed by God on the prophet?!!!
To wiggle out of this tricky situation the interpreters have fabricated a ridiculous excuse. They claim that the word ‘Sallawat’ has no less than five different meanings!!
1- First they will say that when God does the ‘Sallat’ to the prophet it means honoring exclusively.
2- When God does the ‘Sallat’ to the believers it means granting them His mercy.
3- When the angels do the ‘Sallat’ to the prophet it means constantly praising him.
4- When the angels do the ‘Sallat’ to the believers, or when the prophet does it for the believers, it is in the sense of imploring God’s mercy for them.
5- When the believers do the ‘Sallat’ to the prophet it is a sign of loving him and following him.
If the word (Sallat) in the Quran can have all these meanings then the Quran is indeed a collection of ambiguous puzzles!
To believe that God may say one simple word and imply five different meanings is to imply that the Quran is vague and crooked! The important fact is that after all that, and as it turns out, none of these five meanings is correct! To verify that let us study the use of the word ‘Sallat’ in the Quran. Immediately we find that the word ‘Sallat’ has been mentioned in the Quran in two different context :
a- The ‘Sallat’ for Allah, which is an act of worship, as used in the following verse :
"I am God; there is no other God beside Me, Thus you shall worship me and observe the ‘Sallat’ to commemorate Me." (20/14)
b- The ‘Sallat’ of the prophet on the believers or of the believers on the prophet as mentioned in previous verses.
The difference between the two uses of the same word all depends on the letter or the word that comes immediately after the word ‘Sallat’.
The word ‘Sallat’ is either followed by the Arabic letter ‘L’ which means (to, for) as in:
"……..observe the ‘Sallat’ to commemorate Me." (Sura 20, verse 14)
This first use, means the act of prayer, which is done exclusively for God.
The word ‘Sallat’ can also be followed by the Arabic word ‘Ala’ which means (on) as in all the previous verses.
Now, if ‘Sallat for’ means the act of worship of God, what is the meaning of the word ‘Sallat on’ as the one done for the prophet or the believers?
Before we analyze this second meaning, which has been the cause of all the corruption, we must first clarify a vital point. Consider the following example:
A father tells his son:
‘Like I wash my face, you too wash your face.’
The logic of this simple sentence suggests that since the father does one thing and asks the son to do it as well, then it implies that the same action done by the father is done by the son. It is not logical to assume that the father means to say:
‘When I wash my face I mean to wipe my face with water but when you wash your face my son it means you should wash your feet!!’
Going back to (Sura 33, verse 56), and since the two verbs (Yossalloon and Salloo) are used in the same verse, without any insinuation of a change in meaning, then by logic they must have the same meaning.
Consequently, when God informs us that He and the angels (Yossalloon ala al Nabi), then in the same sentence commands us to do the same, we must understand that it is of the same meaning.
Here we reach the heart of the matter. What is the meaning of (Sallat ala al Nabi) that can be done by God and by the believers equally? The same thing that is done by God must be done by the believers, as per the previous example.
First, and to give the interpreters the benefit of the doubt, let us look at the five different meanings they have suggested for the word ‘Sallat ala al Nabi’ and try to find out if any of these meanings can possibly be done by God and also by the believers :
1- God bestowing honor on His servant: This can be done by God to any of His servants, but it is not in the authority of any human to honor another human on behalf of God.
2- To grant mercy: Again this may only be done by God to any of His servants, all humans are themselves in need of God’s mercy, they do not have it within them to grant one another God’s mercy.
3- To constantly praise: God is too exalted ( Al Moutaali ) and proud ( Al Moutakaber) than to constantly sing the praises of any of those He has created. On the other hand, the Quran teaches the believers that the only one worthy of constant praise is God.
4- To implore God’s mercy: This may be done by believers but it does not make sense for God to implore Himself.
5- As a sign of following someone: Again may not be done by God be exalted. He does not follow anyone.
From this brief analysis it is clear that some of these interpretations may be done by God, while others may be done by human beings but there is not one interpretation that could apply to God and human beings equally. What then is the correct meaning of these words?
The only meaning for the words ‘Sallat ala al Nabi’ that is found in the Quran and that can apply to God, His angels and to the believers alike is to ‘support the prophet’. God and His angels indeed support the prophet and by the same token God commands the believers to support His prophet. This correct meaning is confirmed by Quranic verses :
1- God supports His prophet :
"We have bestowed upon you (O Muhammad) a great victory, whereby God forgives your past sins, as well as future sins, and perfects His blessings on you, and guides you in a straight path. Additionally, God will support you with an unwavering support." (48/1-3)
2- The angels commanded by God to support the prophet :
"Your Lord supports you with three thousand angels, sent down (to support you)." (3/124)
3- Believers commanded to support the prophet of God :
"(You shall give) to the needy who immigrated. They were evicted from their homes and deprived of their properties, because they sought God’s grace and pleasure, and because they supported God and His messenger. They are the sincere ones." (59/8)
"If you fail to support him (the prophet), God has already supported him. Thus when the disbelievers chased, him and he was one of two in the cave, he said to his friend, ‘Do not worry, God is with us’, God then sent contentment and security upon him, and supported him with invisible soldiers." (9/40)
"Those who believe in him (the prophet), respect him, SUPPORT HIM and follow the light (the Quran) that was sent down with him are the truly successful ones." (7/157)
It is clear from these verses that God commands believers to do three things regarding His prophet :
1- To believe in him.
2- To support him.
3- To obey and follow his message (the Quran).
Thus the correct meaning of the words ‘Sallat ala al Nabi’ is to support the prophet. Since the prophet is now dead and no longer with us then it is not possible to support him personally. The support now is directed to his message which is the Quran.
With that correct meaning of the word, it is right to think that when God ‘Yessallee ala al Momeneen’ it means He supports them and guides them out of the darkness. This meaning is indeed confirmed in the verse :
"He is the one who ‘Yessallee alaikom’ (supports you), together with His angels, to lead you out of the darkness into the light." (33/43)
Similarly when God and His angels ‘Yessalloo ala al Nabi’ it is in the sense that He supports the prophet together with His angels. God does not go around repeating the words ‘Sallee ala al Nabi’, ‘Sallee ala al Nabi’ !!!
Similarly when the prophet ‘Yessalle ala al Momeneen’ (believers), as God commanded him in (Sura 9, verse 103), it is in the sense, that is he is to support them. Obviously God’s command to His prophet in this verse does not mean that the prophet should go around saying ‘Sallee ala Zeid’, ‘Sallee ala Ali’, ‘Sallee ala Belal’ !!
It is important here to inspect some of the ‘hadith’ that are related to the ‘Sallat ala al Nabi’ and verify their agreement with the Quran.
One of the very famous ‘hadith’ goes that the prophet said that whoever does not ‘Yessallee ala al Nabi’ will not attain the prophet’s ‘Shafa’a’ (intercession) on judgment day. Various other ‘hadith’ indicate that the prophet emphasised his wish that the believers should say these words for him. Here we must wonder, did the prophet really ask this of the believers? And if not why? As stressed earlier in this book, the verification of any concept, saying or ritual must be based on whether this concept is in agreement with the Quran or not.
To verify these ‘hadith’ let us first read the following verses :
"Do not ask them for a return, you simply deliver this reminder for all the people." (12/104)
"I have not asked you for any return. My return comes only from God. I have been commanded to be a submitter." (10/72)
"Say I do not ask you for any return" (38/86)
These verses assert the fact that the prophet never asked the believers for anything in return for delivering God’s message to them. It is indeed far more respectful to think of the prophet as he who’s mission was much more noble than to go around saying do this for me or do that (e.g. if you do not visit my grave I will not intercede for you, and if you do not ‘Tessallo alaya’ I will not do that for you ......etc.)
Another of the cherished ‘hadith’ implies that the prophet instructed Muslims to say a specific prayer for him. The words of this prayer are as follows :
‘Aaty (grant) Sayedna (our Master/Lord) Muhammad the way, the virtue and the highest degree and deliver him to the praise worthy status that You promised him, You do not break Your promises.’
This simple everyday prayer contains various violations of the teachings of the Quran:
1- To believe that the prophet has asked the believers to do something for him is in violation of the previous Quranic verses that command the prophet to ask for no return whatsoever from the believers. The only return he will receive will be from God.
2- It is indeed wrong in the sight of God to call anyone our Lord except He.
"Or have they set up other Lords besides Him, God is the only Lord and Master" (42/9)
3- The one who uses such a prayer is the one who either never read the Quran or has read it but does not really believe it! This is because Sura 48 confirms that God has informed the prophet that He has forgiven him all his sins, past and future :
"We have bestowed upon you (O Muhammad) a great victory, whereby God forgives your past, as well as future sins." (48/1-2)
What this great sign of mercy from God to his prophet means is that Muhammad is secured the highest reward in the hereafter (since he is forgiven all his sins). As a result, no prayer could elevate his position any higher (since there is none better than he who has been forgiven all sins in advance!).
4- The words ‘you do not break your promises’, are to say the least insulting to God. The utterance of these words can only mean that whoever speaks them is not really sure if God will keep His promise and that a small reminder will come handy !!
Instead, when a true believer reads in the Quran that God has forgiven the prophet all his sins, will consider the matter a closed one. He will not need to remind God of His promises.
If this is the correct meaning of the words ‘Sallat ala al Nabi’, then what is the meaning of the word ‘Tasslleem’ as in ‘Wa sallemoo tasleema’ (Sura 33, verse 56)?
Sadly, the corrupted interpreters have found another corrupted meaning to these words as well. They claim that these words are a command from God to salute the prophet and send him our greetings! This is based on their false interpretation of the word ‘Tasleema’ to mean greetings!
This is contrary to the meaning of the word in the Quran as will be demonstrated, but before doing that we must consider all similar words to ‘Tasleem’ that are used in the Quran.
1- Islam: Which means submission to the will of God as in:
"The only religion approved by God is Islam" (3/19)
"Anyone who adopts other than Islam as his religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be with the losers.’ (3/85)
2- Salam: Which means greetings as in:
"Do not say to the one who offers you Salam (greetings), ‘You are not a believer....." (4/94)
3- Salm: Which is the opposite of war as in:
"If they are inclined towards Salm (peace), then so shall you and put your trust in God. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient." (8/61)
4- Saleem: Which means without defects as in:
"That is the day when neither money nor children will be of any use, only the ones who come to God with a heart that is Saleem (without defects, pure) (will be saved)." (26/88-89)
5- Istisllam: Which means surrender as in:
"Stop them and ask them, ‘How come you do not help one another?’ On that day they will be Mostaslemoon (in total surrender)." (37/25-26)
6- Soullaman : Which means a ladder as in:
"And if their rejection gets to be too much for you, you should know that even if you dug a tunnel through the earth, or climbed a Soullama (ladder) into the sky, and produced a miracle for them (they still would not believe)...." (6/35)
7- Tasleem: Which means recognition and acceptance.
As in the subject of this search (33:56) It is noteworthy to mention that the word ‘Taslleem’ is found in only three verses in the Quran, and in all three verses it means to recognize and endorse:
"Never indeed, by your Lord; they are not believers until they come to you to judge in their disputes, then have no objection to your judgment and ‘Yessallemoo Taslleema’ (totally accepting and endorsing it)." (4/65)
His messenger had promised us, indeed God and His messenger have been truthful. All this strengthened their Iman and Taslleem (faith and recognition)." (33/22)
"God and His angels ‘Yessalloo ala al Nabi’ (support him). O you who believe you shall ‘Salloo alayhee’ (support him) and Sallemoo Taslleema , ( fully recognize him and accept him as the messenger of God)." (33/56)
A very simple and effective way of proving that the word ‘Tasslleem’ means recognition and not greetings as the corrupters would have us believe, is to substitute each of these two words, first (recognition), then (greetings) in place of the word ‘Tasslleem’ in each of the previous verses and see which one of the two words make more sense.
Let us start with the word greetings:
- ".........they are not believers until they come to you to judge in their disputes, then have no objection to your judgment and greetings" !!
- ".....indeed God and His messenger have been truthful. All this strengthened their Iman and greetings" !!!!!
It is obvious that the substitution of the word greetings in these verses makes no sense whatsoever. However if we insert the word recognition in place of ‘Tasslleem’ all three verses will make perfect sense.
The correct meaning of verse 56 of Sura 33 is thus:
"God and His angels support the prophet, O you who believe you too shall support him and fully recognize and accept him (as the prophet of God)."
Indeed it makes perfect sense that God should command the believers to support His prophet and totally accept him rather than to be primarily concerned in people going around saying (Sallee ala al Nabi) without understanding what it really means and sending our greeting to the prophet who is dead and can no longer hear us, (see Sura 35, verse 14).
However, the corrupters have come up with the most absurd scenario to justify the need to constantly greet the prophet. They claim that the prophet is alive in his grave, that he can see us when we visit his grave, that he hears us when we greet him and actually replies to our greetings!!
This absurd fabrication is once again in contradiction to various Quranic verses.
FIRST
Indeed the prophet is alive, however he is definitely not in his grave but up somewhere in the kingdom of God. This is confirmed by various verses that indicate that the righteous are not dead but are alive and prosperous in God’s Kingdom.
SECOND
The prophet does not return the greetings simply because the Quran affirms that those who died cannot hear us, and thus cannot respond to us:
"Those you call on other than Him (your Lord) do not possess as much as a seed’s shell. If you call on them they cannot hear you. Even if they heard you they cannot respond to you...." (35/13-14)
The Quran states that a barrier separates the dead from the living :
"A barrier will separate them from this world till the day they are resurrected." (23/100)
For all that, the correct meaning of (Sura 33, verse 56) is:
"God and His angels support the prophet, O you who believe, you too shall support him and fully recognize and accept him (as the prophet of God)."
This accurate and precise meaning is asserted and authenticated in the following verse:
"Those who believe in him (the prophet), and respect him, and support him, and follow the light (the Quran) that was brought down with him, those are the truly successful ones." (7/157)
This verse includes all that God commanded us to do for the prophet :
1- To believe in him, which corresponds to (Sallemoo Tasleema) in 33:56
2- To support him which correspond to (Salloo Alayhee) in the same verse.
3- To obey him (to follow the message that was revealed to him, which is the Quran).
This is what God commands any people to do for their prophet, whether they are the people of Moses, Jesus or Muhammad.
The importance of this last verse is profound since it exposes the corrupted interpretation of three prime concepts :
1- ‘Sallemmo Tasllemma’ is a command from God to the believers to recognize and believe in His prophet, it is not a command from God for them to send him greetings!!!
2- ‘Salloo Alayhee’ is a command from God to the believers to support His prophet, it is not a command to the believers to go around like parrots repeating ‘Salli ala al Nabi’ without even knowing what it means!
3- To obey the prophet is a command from God to the believers to follow the light (Quran) that He has revealed to His prophet (7:157), it is not a command to follow that which is falsely attributed to the prophet, and called his Sunna, and which was never mentioned in the Quran, not even once!
The only Sunna authorized in the Quran is the Sunna of God.

The only Sunna authorized in the Quran is the Sunna of God.

shahadah--- from www.free-minds.org
THe ShahadaThe prophet Abraham who, although not a Jew or a Christian, was such an excellent example that God commanded his Messenger Muhammad to follow him. And Mohammed responded by saying:
" I have submitted my wholeself to God and so have those who follow me..."
Why then have millions of people been entrapped into following the teachings of Abu Hurairah a mysterious person from the shadows of Hadith literature? Could it be that they have rejected the teaching of Quran while believing they have not done so? God says:
" Have you noted those who only know part of the scripture, and when invited to adopt God's law, they turn away in aversion?.... That is because they are deceived in their faith by their own inventions." (Quran: 3:23-24)
The Shahadah
To profess their faith in Islam the Sunnis make this declaration: "I bear witness that there is no god except God and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God. " (Arabic transliteration: "Ash hadu anlaa ilaaha illallaahu wa ash hadu anna muhammadar-rasulallah"). This testimony is called the Shahadah and according to Sunni belief it must be recited by every Muslim as an attestation of their allegiance to Islam. Consequently any person who does not 'bear witness' is not accepted as a Muslim by them.
However this testimony is not sanctioned by the true teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, which are found in the Quran, the veritable word of God.
Many people may feel astounded at this statement especially as the Shahadah is considered to be the foundation of Sunni faith. This is why it is important to take a careful and critical look before reaching any impulsive conclusions.
For the Sunni, the purpose of the Shahadah is many folds. For example without reciting the Shahadah, the Sunnis consider their salat prayer to be nullified. Also before a newcomer is accepted into the Sunni religion, a public declaration by reciting the Shahadah in front of witnesses must be made. In some countries converts are given a "certificate" after reciting the Shahadah to confirm they have been "admitted" into the Islamic fold. However, it is not known if such "certificates" are also a complimentary pass into heaven!
To associate anything or anyone with God is known as 'shirk', the highest degree of blasphemy, which God does not forgive. This is made clear in chapter 4 verse 48. The Quran also stipulates that Muslims must profess faith in the One God and not call on anyone else. The Shahadah, therefore, cannot be the correct way to affirm faith as the name of the prophet Muhammad, besides God, is included in this attestation and also used in the salat prayers.
People blindly following their religion are the root of wrong beliefs. This acceptance of the Shahadah is no different. If only people read and understand the Quran then they would realize that God revealed the following verse to the Messenger which is just as applicable to us today as it was to him:
"Do not accept anything that you yourself cannot verify. Surely your hearing, your eyesight and your mind will be questioned" Sura 17:36.
God wants us to substantiate our beliefs and we should follow His advice.
Abu Hurairah
The Shahadah testimony that is recited by the Sunnis originates from Abu Hurairah and is recorded in the 'hadith' - the oral traditions attributed to the prophet Muhammad. The hadith given below is from "Mishkat-ul-Masabih", translation by Maulana Fazlul Karim, Volume 1, Chapter 1, no.27. (Published by the Book House, Lahore, Pakistan). As there are a many versions of this hadith, the collections of Tirmidzi should also be read.
The hadith regarding the Shahadah says:
One day Abu Hurairah went to the people and told them that the Messenger had authorised him to go and tell them to recite the Shahadah "ash hadu anlaa ilaha illallhu wa ash hadu anna muhammadar-rasulullah". Another version reads " muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu". The first person Abu Hurairah came across to give the Shahadah was Saidina Omar (later the second caliph). When Omar heard it he promptly punched Abu Hurairah in the chest and knocked him to the ground. Then Omar put his foot on Abu Hurairah's neck and asked him how dare he utter such a blasphemy.
Abu Hurairah (who is recorded in the hadith as having received quite u few beatings from Saidina Omar during his lifetime) then cried out and named the Messenger as his authority. When again challenged by Saidina Omar, Abu Hurairah pulled out a pair of leather slippers and showed them to Omar. The slippers, he said, were given to him by the Prophet, as proof for what he was saying. Recognising the prophet's slippers, Omar simmered down. Everyone then happily started reciting the shahadah. This most incredible story is the background to the Shahadah of Abu Hurairah, which has been adopted by millions of Sunnis.
In the Quran God says,
"The believers are kind to each other and firm with the disbelievers..." Sura 5:54.
Hence the 'hadith' books are full of stories of how great friends the companions of the prophet (known as 'Sahaba') were and the love and kindness they showed towards each other.
Fourteen centuries down the road today the Tabligh people (sunni missionaries) always greet each other with hugs and kisses, supposedly to emulate the brotherly Sahaba. But in this particular 'hadith', we have one Sahaba knocking another down to the ground for bringing along something as important as the Shahadah!
In another account of this same episode, Omar is reported as challenging the Messenger if he did indeed send Abu Hurairah with his slippers to recite the Shahadah. When the Messenger said yes, Omar disagreed with him and said the Shahadah will make people "lazy"! Whatever the logic of this hadith can be left for the hadith advocates to explain. Yet again the narrator of this fabrication is Abu Hurairah.
About the believers and the companions of the prophet, and Omar was one of them, the Quran says;
" The only thing the believers utter when invited to heed God and His messenger and uphold His law is 'we hear and we obey". These are the winners". Sura 24:51
Abu Hurairah's ridiculous fable not only contradicts the above verse but also contradicts Sura 6:51 where God tells the Messenger (and by implication the companions and whomever the Quran reaches):
"You shall preach WITH THE Quran to those who reverence the gathering before their Lord..."
Instead Abu Hurairah said that the Prophet handed over his pair of slippers to him and told him to preach with the slippers in hand as proof of authenticity. By his confession Abu Hurairah was beaten by Omar, who argued with the Prophet and said that the Shahadah was unwise. Does the basis of a Muslim's faith rest on such an absurd tale? Surely this cannot be part of Islam, which is based on reason and logic?
No one seems to know the correct identity of this Abu Hurairah even today scholars cannot agree on his real name. Despite there being a hadith (also attributed to Abu Hurairah) that we should not call people by nicknames, Abu Hurairah is itself a nickname which means "the Father of Cats". So the originator of the Sunni Shahadah was an unknown man who was attacked unceremoniously by another companion of the Messenger! It is now apparent that there is significant evidence to show that the Shahadah testimony of the Sunni people has a very dubious background based on ludicrous hadith falsely attributed to the prophet Muhammad whom they claim to love!
How then does Abu Hurairah's Shahadah contradict the Prophet's true teachings? The Quran was revealed by God to the prophet Muhammad who then passed on this message, first to the companions and then to the rest of the people. Besides being God's own revelation, the Quran represents what was actually said by the prophet Muhammad. Anyone who rejects this simple fact cannot at all claim to be a Muslim.
So what did God commanded the Messenger to tell us? "The mosques belong to God, do not call on anyone else besides God" Sura 72:18.
However, in the Shahadah of Abu Hurairah, the Sunnis call on the Messenger as well as God. The Sunni scholars will argue that the mention of the Messenger's name is only out of respect. But then in the same breath, they will insist that the salat prayer to God Almighty is nullified if the prophet Muhammad's name is not mentioned in the Shahadah during the salat prayer. This is tantamount to idolatry as associating another person with God is committing 'shirk' the unforgivable offence.
God Alone
The human has a major weakness. He finds it difficult to believe in an unseen God. Even the Prophet Moses had this problem.
"When Moses came to our audience, and His Lord spoke to him, he said, "My Lord let me look and see you". He said, "You cannot see Me..." Sura, 7:143.
The human looks for something tangible, hence the Christians first elevated Jesus to a Son of God and then to the status of God Himself. The Hindus worship humans like Rama and Krishna who they say are gods. The Sunnis have similarly idolized the Prophet Muhammad and have given him a divine status by adding his name to the Shahadah testament and appropriately the Sunnis can be called "Mohammedan".
To remind them of this folly will only raise their anger. Perhaps they do not know that it is the Prophet Muhammad himself who taught the following:
"When God alone is advocated, the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter shrink with aversion. But when OTHERS are mentioned besides Him, they rejoice" Sura 39:45.
Note how angry the Mohammedan become when you mention God alone. Their anger subsides only when you agree to add "Muhammad" as the second half of Abu Hurairah's Shahadah which reads ". And I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God" (Arabic transliteration: wa ash hadu anna muhammadar rasulullah).
God revealed to the Messenger that this is actually the Shahadah of the hypocrites (Arabic: Munafiq).
"Among the Arabs around you there are hypocrites, and among the city dwellers as well. They persist in hypocrisy and while you (Muhammad) may not know them, me know them. We will double the punishment for them, then they will be returned for a terrible retribution" Sura 9:101.
Here God is telling the Messenger that hypocrites surround him and that he does not know who they are. Only God knows the hypocrites. But God promises
"... He will most certainly expose the hypocrites" Sura 29:11.
And the hypocrites are worried about this too:
"The hypocrites are afraid lest a verse may expose what they hide in their hearts. Say, "Keep on scoffing. God will surely expose what you fear" Sura 9:64.
Hypocrites Exposed
God also says that the hypocrites can be recognized by way they engage in vain talk.
"If we will we can expose them for you, so that you can recognize them just by looking at them. However you can recognize them from what they say. God is fully aware of all your works". Sura, 47:30.
Hence God promises to expose the hypocrites. One such method is recorded in the Quran in Sura 63:1.
"When the hypocrites come to you and say: "WE BEAR WITNESS THAT YOU ARE THE MESSENGER OF GOD. God indeed knows that you are His Messenger. God bears witness that the hypocrites are liars".
The important thing to note in this verse is that the emphasized words form the second part of Abu Hurairah's Shahadah, which is now recited by all Mohammedan. This as we see from the verse 63.1 is actually the Shahadah of the hypocrites! What the hypocrites say is vain talk because God indeed knows that Muhammad is His Messenger (63:1). God does not need any one to affirm back to Him what He already knows about His own Messenger.
The Quran says;
"We have sent you as a Messenger and GOD SUFFICES AS A WITNESS..." Sura 4:79
and this is exactly what the Messenger told his companions. There is no need to bear witness on him because God has already done so and that is enough.
"God bears witness concerning what He has revealed to you. He has revealed it with His knowledge. And the angels bear witness as well, BUT GOD IS ENOUGH AS A WITNESS" Sura 4:166.
Again this is what the Messenger told the companions. God is enough as a witness. God also discourages attempts at witnessing other Messengers:
"You were not on the slope of the western Mount when we gave Moses the commandments. YOU WERE NOT A WITNESS" Sura 28:44.
So people cannot "witness" the messengership of the Messengers.
To reiterate, God says He will certainly expose the hypocrites (sura 29:11). God says the Messenger can recognize them from what they say (sura 47:30). So when the hypocrites come and insist that they want to bear witness on the Messenger, they expose themselves as hypocrites. And Abu Hurairah (if he really existed) has fooled millions of Muslims into reciting the same thing everyday of their lives.
The first part of Abu Hurairah's Shahadah is "I bear witness that there is no god except God". (Arabic transliteration: "ash hadu anlaa ilaaha illallah).
The Quran says:
"God bears witness that there is no god except He, and so do the angels and those endowed with knowledge, in truth and justice. There is no god except He, the mighty, the wise" Sura 3:18.
God is enough as a Witness
Again God says that His own witness is enough:
"Say, Whose testimony is the greatest'' Say, "God's (testimony is the greatest). HE IS THE WITNESS BETWEEN ME AND YOU that this Quran has been inspired to me, to preach it to you and whomever it reaches.." Sura, 6:19.
Because
"... God suffices as a witness..." Sura 4:79 and 4:166.,
the Shahadah as proclaimed by Abu Hurairah is therefore a lie – a fabrication by whoever wrote the 'hadith'. If we do not even have his true identity, how do we know if Abu Hurairah existed at all?
Despite the evidence of the Quran, which no Muslim will deny is the truest teaching of the Messenger, the hypocrites insist on bearing witness to Muhammad's Messengership. They insist on bearing witness when God says He needs no other witness apart from Himself.
Most importantly, the Shahadah of Abu Hurairah, by its purpose, goes against Sura 72:18 and Sura 39:45 in that it associates the Messenger's name with God. Without bearing witness on the Messenger, the Sunnis say that the salat prayer and faith are void. Even though by evidence from the Quran this is shown to be "shirk" of the highest order. Each time people say the Sunni Shahadah they are committing "shirk", the unpardonable blasphemy for which they may burn in hell.
The True Declaration
What then is the real attestation, which Muslims can recite to affirm their faith? Perhaps when the companions asked the Messenger this question, he would have replied:
"The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the hearer, the knower". Sura 6:114
Therefore the answer is definitely in the Quran and to show the correct attestation of faith, the Prophet Abraham is an excellent example.
"Whose religion is better than one who SUBMITS himself to God, works righteousness and follows the faith Of Abraham the monotheist? God has chosen Abraham as a beloved friend". Sura, 4:125.
Remember that this verse was revealed to the Messenger and this is what the Messenger then imparted to his companions and all the people through the Quran. Therefore we too must follow the faith Of Abraham.
"Thus who would then forsake the faith of Abraham, except those who fool themselves? We have chosen him in this life, and in the hereafter he will be with the righteous" Sura 2:130.
Only fools will forsake the faith Of Abraham. Therefore unless people want to be considered as fools, it would be better to do what Abraham did. And what did Abraham do?
The next verse tells us:
"When his Lord said to him "SUBMIT" he said, "I SUBMIT TO THE LORD OF THE WORLDS" (Arabic: Aslamtu Li Rabbil Aalameen) Sura 2:131.
So here we have it. When God showed Abraham the perfect religion, He commanded Abraham to Submit ("Aslimu") and Abraham said "Aslamtu li rabbil aalameen". This is how MUSLIMS should attest their faith.
Now it is clear that Muslims cannot attest their faith by witnessing a Messenger or God, especially as they cannot be seen. Witnessing on Muhammad's messengership is just the idolization of one prophet. Giving distinction to one messenger above another is strictly forbidden in the Quran as mentioned in verses 2.285 and 4.150-152.
The story of Abraham continues in the next verse:
"The same did Abraham enjoin upon his sons and also Jacob, "O My sons, God has chosen for you the true faith, therefore DIE NOT SAVE AS MEN WHO HAVE SUBMITTED". Sura 2:132
Abraham enjoined his sons to believe in the same things he did. He also successfully enjoined his people to say the same thing "Aslamtu li rabbil aalameen" which means "I submit myself to the Lord of the Worlds". This is revealed in the next verse:
"Or were you present when death came to Jacob, when he said unto his sons, 'What will you worship after me?" They said, 'We shall worship thy God, the God of thy fathers Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac, One God, and UNTO HIM WE HAVE SUBMITTED" Sura 2:133.
This is the truth about how Abraham submitted himself to God, as it was revealed to the Messenger through the Quran. And the Messenger is commanded to follow Abraham:
"And they say, "Be Jews or Christians, then you will be rightly guided. "Say; "No, We follow the faith of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters". Sura 2:135
"Say, 'We believe in God and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham..." Sura, 2:136.
And the message that was revealed to Abraham is disclosed once more to us in the Quran and preserved carefully for posterity. As for those who reject these truths, God says,
"Or do you say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the tribes were Jews or Christians? Say "Do you know best or does God? And who is more unjust than he who conceals a testimony he has received from God. God is not unaware of what you do" Sura 2:140.
So why do people hide this testimony? Abraham declared "Aslamtu li rabbil aalameen" (I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds) and he enjoined this upon his sons and upon Jacob.
The Prophet Muhammad and the companions have been given the same testimony. So why do they hide this testimony and replace it with a Shahadah of the hypocrites?
There is no doubt that the prophet Muhammad followed the faith of Abraham.
"And we inspired you (Muhammad) to FOLLOW THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM, he who was naturally upright, he was never an idolater" Sura 16:123.
The Prophet did exactly as God commanded him. If anyone wants to become a Muslim should they then not follow the prophet Muhammad's example that affirmed his faith in the same way as Abraham?
"Those among mankind who have the best claim to Abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe, and God is the protecting friend of the believers". Sura, 3:68.
Say, (Muhammad) "I am forbidden to worship those whom you call besides God, since there has come to me clear proofs from God, and I AM COMMANDED TO SUBMIT TO THE LORD OF THE WORLDS (wa umirtu un aslima li rabbil aalameen) Sura 40:66.
But what if the people like the hypocrites come and insist that they want to bear witness on the Messenger and bear witness on God? What do you tell them?
The answer, as always, is in the Quran:
"And if they argue with you (Muhammad) say: "I HAVE SUBMITTED MY WHOLE SELF TO GOD (aslamtu waj hiyu lillah) and so have those who follow me..." Sura 3:20.
The Messenger and his companions simply submitted themselves to God:
"Say "Shall we call those things besides God, which can neither harm us nor benefit us, and shall we turn back after God has guided us - like one possessed by the devils, who has companions (sahaba!) Who invite him, saying "Come to us?" Say, 'The guidance of God is indeed true guidance and WE ARE COMMANDED TO SUBMIT TO THE LORD OF THE WORLDS (wa umirna li nuslimn li rabbil aalameen)" Sura 6:71
The Messenger and his companions simply submitted to the Lord of the worlds. If Abu Hurairah, or any other person, comes and asks a Muslim to join him in bearing witness over God and His Messenger, the answer must be to say "No!" We are commanded To SUBMIT To the Lord of the Worlds (aslamtu li rabbil aalameen).
The Quran also gives an incident of the prophet Solomon and the Queen of Sheba as another example of submission to God. It records the moment when the Queen reverts to Islam. She was an idolater and Solomon had invited her to Islam. To prove the greatness of God, Solomom used powers given to him to move the Queen of Sheba's magnificent palace intact, from one place to another in the blink of an eye.
Seeing this, she realized God's power, immediately repented and said,
"Rabbi inn salamtu nafsin, wa aslamtu ma'a Sulaimaana, lillaahi rabbiul aalameen" which means, "... Oh my Lord, indeed I have wronged my soul. I SUBMIT MYSELF ALONG WITH SOLOMON, TO GOD THE LORD OF THE WORLDS" Sura, 27:44.
Therefore it is now apparent that the mysterious Abu Hurairah has indeed made many people wrong their souls. Each time you try to bear witness on the Messenger and God, not only do you wrong your souls but also you make fools of yourselves because you forsake the faith of Abraham (Sura 2:130).
To affirm their faith Muslims should use the examples given in the Quran. What they should say is "I SUBMIT MYSELF TO THE LORD OF THE WORLDS". (Arabic: Aslamtu li rabbil aalameen). Others who have affirmed their faith in this way are the Prophets Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Solomon and of course the Prophet Muhammad (Sura 40:66). Also the Queen of Sheba and the companions of the Prophet did the same. If you adopt their way, you will be in good company.
As for those who insist on following the deceitful Abu Hurairah into the hellfire, God says,
'who does more wrong than one whom invents a lie against God? They will be returned to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "THESE ARE THE ONES WHO LIED AGAINST THEIR LORD, Behold, the curse of God is on those who do wrong. THOSE WHO HINDER MEN FROM THE PATH OF GOD AND WOULD SEEK IN IT SOMETHING CROOKED, these were they who denied the hereafter". Sura 11:18-19.
"We have sent you as a Messenger And God suffices as a witness..." (Quran Sura 4:79.) " When his Lord said to him "Submit" he said " I submit to the Lord of the Worlds" (Quran Sura 2:131)
About the believers and the companions of the prophet, and Omar was one of them, the Quran says;
The Quran says;

INTERCESSION! By Fahad (e-mail: fahadkhan12@gmail.com)
I seek refuge in God from Satan the rejected
In the name of God ,Most Gracious Most Merciful
And preach with this (Quran) to those who reverence the summoning before their Lord - they have none beside Him as a Lord and Master, nor an intercessor - that they may attain salvation.
{6:51}
Yusuf Ali 6:51
Give this warning to those in whose (hearts) is the fear that they will be brought (to judgment) before their Lord: except for Him they will have no protector nor intercessor: that they may guard (against evil).
Pickthal 6:51
Warn hereby those who fear (because they know) that they will be gathered unto their Lord, for whom there is no protecting ally nor intercessor beside Him, that they may ward off (evil).
Shakir 6:51
And warn with it those who fear that they shall be gathered to their Lord -- there is no guardian for them, nor any intercessor besides Him -- that they may guard (against evil).
Sher Ali 6:51
And warn thereby those who fear that they shall be gathered to their Lord that they shall have no friend nor intercessor besides HIM, so that they may become righteous.
"Progressive Muslims" 6:51
And warn with it those who realize that they will be gathered to their Lord; they do not have besides Him any protector nor intercessor; so that they may be righteous.
INTERCESSION
[39:43-44] Have they invented intercessors to mediate between them and GOD? Say, "What if they do not possess any power, nor understanding?" Say, "All INTERCESSION belongs to GOD." To Him belongs all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you will be returned.
Intercession is one of Satan's most effective trick to entice people into idol worship . To believe that someone possesses a partnership with God in anything is setting up a god besides Him . And this is what the myth of intercession is about . To believe that God will share his authority of intercession with powerless beings (like Muhammed, Jesus , Saints ) . The Quran has repeatedly declared that all intercession belongs to God but “the human being is the most argumentative creature.”
[39:44] Say, "All intercession belongs to GOD." To Him belongs all sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you will be returned.
Yusuf Ali
Say: "To God belongs exclusively (the right to grant) intercession: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: In the End, it is to Him that ye shall be brought back."
Pickthal
Say: Unto Allah belongeth all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. And afterward unto Him ye will be brought back.
Shakir
Say: Allah's is the intercession altogether; His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you shall be brought back.
Sher Ali
Say, `All intercession rests with Allah. To HIM belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And to HIM, then, shall you be brought back.'
"Progressive Muslims"
Say: "To God belong all intercessions." To Him belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you will be returned.
[6:70] You shall disregard those who take their religion in vain, as if it is a social function,
and are totally absorbed in this worldly life. Remind with this (Quran), lest a soul may suffer the consequences of its evil earnings. It has none beside GOD as a Lord and Master, nor an INTERCESSOR. If it could offer any kind of ransom, it would not be accepted. They suffer the consequences of the evil works they earn; they have incurred hellish drinks, and a painful retribution because of their disbelief.
Yusuf Ali
Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except God: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting God.
Pickthal
And forsake those who take their religion for a pastime and a jest, and whom the life of the world beguileth. Remind (mankind) hereby lest a soul be destroyed by what it earneth. It hath beside Allah no protecting ally nor intercessor, and though it offer every compensation it will not be accepted from it. Those are they who perish by their own deserts. For them is drink of boiling water and a painful doom, because they disbelieved.
Shakir
And leave those who have taken their religion for a play and an idle sport, and whom this world's life has deceived, and remind (them) thereby lest a soul should be given up to destruction for what it has earned; it shall not have besides Allah any guardian nor an intercessor, and if it should seek to give every compensation, it shall not be accepted from it; these are they who shall be given up to destruction for what they earned; they shall have a drink of boiling water and a painful chastisement because they disbelieved.
Sher Ali
And leave alone those who take their religion to be a sport and a pastime, and whom worldly life has beguiled. And admonish people thereby lest a soul be consigned to perdition for what it has earned. It shall have no helper nor intercessor beside Allah; and even if it offer every ransom it shall not be accepted from it. These are they who have been delivered over to destruction for their own acts. They will have a drink of boiling water and a grievous punishment, because they disbelieved.
"Progressive Muslims"
Leave alone those who have taken their system as fun and games, and this worldly life has tempted them. And remind with it that a soul will suffer with what it has earned, it will not have besides God any supporter nor intercessor; and even if it brings all justice, none will be accepted from it. These are the ones who have suffered with what they have earned; for them will be a boiling drink, and a painful retribution for what they had rejected.
WILL THERE BE INTERCESSION? WILL IT BE USEFUL?
Kind of . The Quran tells us that on the Day of Judgement ,for example ,if a father would request God to forgive his son then God would forgive him only if the intercession coincides with His will .i.e. God will only forgive him if he is really deserves His forgiveness and not only because his father requested so . Thus “intercession” will take place on the Day of Judgement ,but it will be utterly useless.
[34:23] INTERCESSION with Him will be in vain, unless it coincides with His will… When their minds are finally settled down, and they ask, "What did your Lord say," they will say, "The truth." He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Yusuf Ali
"No intercession can avail in His Presence, except for those for whom He has granted permission. So far (is this the case) that, when terror is removed from their hearts (at the Day of Judgment, then) will they say, 'what is it that your Lord commanded?' they will say, 'That which is true and just; and He is the Most High Most Great'."
Pickthal
No intercession availeth with Him save for him whom He permitteth. Yet, when fear is banished from their hearts, they say: What was it that your Lord said ? They say: The Truth. And He is the Sublime, the Great.
Shakir
And intercession will not avail aught with Him save of him whom He permits. Until when fear shall be removed from their hearts, They shall say: What is it that your Lord said? They shall say: The truth. And He is the Most High, the Great.
Sher Ali
No intercession avails with HIM, except of him whom HE permits it, until when the hearts of those who are granted permission to intercede are relieved of awe, others would say, `What is that your Lord said ?' They will answer, `The truth.' And HE is the High, the Great.
"Progressive Muslims"
Nor will intercession be of any help with Him, except for whom He has already given leave. Until when the fear has subsided from their hearts, they ask: "What did your Lord say?" They will say: "The truth!" And He is the Most High, the Great.
At this point i am tired of finding other translations, so in hope of self learning and actualisation, find it out for urself...
[74:48] The INTERCESSION of the INTERCESSORS will never help them.
[20:109] On that day, INTERCESSION will be useless, except for those permitted by the Most Gracious, and whose utterances conform to His will.
[2:255] GOD: there is no other god besides Him, the Living, the Eternal. Never a moment of unawareness or slumber overtakes Him. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Who could INTERCEDE with Him, except in accordance with His will? He knows their past, and their future. No one attains any knowledge, except as He wills. His dominion encompasses the heavens and the earth, and ruling them never burdens Him. He is the Most High, the Great.
BELIEF IN INTERCESSION IS IDOL WORSHIP !!!
[10:18] THEY WORSHIP BESIDE GOD IDOLS that possess no power to harm them or benefit them, and they say, "THESE ARE OUR INTERCESSORS AT GOD!" Say, "Are you informing GOD of something He does not know in the heavens or the earth?" Be He glorified. He is the Most High; far above needing partners.
Did God require Muhammed’s advice when he created the heavens and the earth ? Did Muhammed have any share in your creation ? Did Muhammed had any share in deciding your Destiny ? Did God require Muhammed as a partner to to shape your life in this world ? The answer is NO .Why then would God require Muhammed as a partner ,as a god besides the only God , to decide your life in the Hereafter ?!! ( the prophet mohammed doesnt know me, so how can he interceed for me, unless you are to say that mohammed knows the past and future.. which is blasphemous..)
[32:4] GOD is the One who created the heavens and the earth, and everything between them in six days, then assumed all authority. You have none beside Him as Lord, nor do you have an INTERCESSOR. Would you not take heed?
[34:22] Say, "Implore the idols you have set up beside GOD. They do not possess as much as a single atom in the heavens, or the earth. They possess no partnership therein, nor does He permit them to be His assistants."
[10:18] …He is the Most High; far above needing partners.
Are God AND Muhammed the masters of the Day of Judgement OR is God alone the Master ?
[1:3-4] Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment.
MESSENGERS COULD NOT INTERCEDE
Some People claim that Muhammed will intercede for them on the DOJ . Some Christians claim Jesus will save them . But the Quran tells us that no one, including the prophets and messengers, ever had any power to intercede ,nor will they have on the DOJ . Do you think God will give them the power of intercession and say “choose your favourites”?
[4:123] It is not in accordance with your wishes, or the wishes of the people of the scripture: anyone who commits evil pays for it, and will have no helper or supporter against GOD.
You think the messengers will help you ? But who will help the messengers ? Quran tells us that the messengers have to much to worry about themselves :
[21:28] He knows their future and their past. They (messengers) do not INTERCEDE, except for those already accepted by Him, and they are worried about their own necks.
[17:57] Even the idols that they implore are seeking the ways and means towards their Lord. They pray for His mercy, and fear His retribution. Surely, the retribution of your Lord is dreadful.
The Quran tells us that messengers had implored God to save their relatives and loved ones , but God would not guide the wicked , nor would he let them roam the Paradise just because the messengers ,His slaves, requested so . They get what they deserve .
NOAH COULD NOT SAVE HIS SON:
[11:45-46] Noah implored his Lord: "My Lord, my son is a member of my family, and Your promise is the truth. You are the wisest of the wise." He(God) said, "O Noah, he is not of your family. It is unrighteous to ask Me for something you do not know. I enlighten you, lest you be like the ignorant."
[11:47] He said, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You, lest I implore You again for something I do not know. Unless You forgive me, and have mercy on me, I will be with the losers."
Abraham could not help his father . Abraham implored God to forgive his father :
[19:47] He (Abraham) said, "Peace be upon you (father). I will implore my Lord to forgive you; He has been Most Kind to me.
But when he was told that his father is an enemy of God and will not be forgiven ,he disowned him .
[9:114] The only reason Abraham asked forgiveness for his father was that he had promised him to do so. But as soon as he realized that he was an enemy of GOD, he disowned him. Abraham was extremely kind, clement.
Christians claim that Jesus will save them . But on the DOJ ,instead of requesting God to forgive them ,he leaves the judgement, to God ,where it belongs .
[5:118] "If You punish them, they are Your constituents. If You forgive them, You are the Almighty, Most Wise."
MUHAMMED COULD NOT INTERCEDE ON BEHALF OF HIS RELATIVES !!!
Muhammed could not help his uncle Abu Lahab . He was old that his uncle and aunty are destined for Hell .
[111:1-5] Condemned are the works of Abee Lahab, and he is condemned. His money and whatever he has accomplished will never help him. He has incurred the blazing Hell. Also his wife, who led the persecution. She will be (resurrected) with a rope of thorns around her neck.
MUHAMMED COULD NOT GUARANTEE ANYONE'S SALVATION
[80:5-7] As for the rich man. You gave him your attention. Even though YOU COULD NOT GUARANTEE HIS SALVATION.
WILL MUHAMMED INTERCEDE OR COMPLAIN ?
On the DOJ instead of requesting God to forgive his people , Muhammed will complain that his people have deserted the Quran (and not Hadith) .
[25:30] The messenger said, "My Lord, my people have deserted this Quran."
You thought Muhammed would protest at God’s judgement to help you ?!
EVEN THE ANGELS DO NOT POSSESS AUTHORITY TO INTERCEDE
Forget Muhammed’s intercession . God has clearly stated in verse 53:26 that even the angels do not possess any power to intercede !!! You believe in God ??
[53:26] Not even the angels in heaven possess authority to INTERCEDE. The only ones permitted by GOD are those who act in accordance with His will and His approval.
CONCLUSION : NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU AGAINST GOD
[36:23] "Shall I set up beside Him gods? If the Most Gracious willed any harm for me, their INTERCESSION cannot help me one bit, nor can they rescue me.
[17:56] Say, "Implore whatever idols you have set up beside Him." They have no power to relieve your afflictions, nor can they prevent them.
[2:254] O you who believe, you shall give to charity from the provisions we have given to you, before a day comes where there is no trade, no nepotism, and no INTERCESSION. The disbelievers are the unjust.
If God willed any harm for you ,no intercession can help you against Him . Muhammed, Jesus ,prophets , saints ,angels ,all are powerless against God’s will and all of them submit to God ,willingly or unwillingly . And as the above verse tells us , believing in intercessors besides God is setting up gods besides Him . But only on the DOJ will the idol worshippers realize that …
[7:53] …"The messengers of our Lord have brought the truth. Are there any INTERCESSORS to INTERCEDE on our behalf? Would you send us back, so that we change our behavior, and do better works than what we did?"
Too late . As the verse continues …
…They have lost their souls, and THEIR OWN INNOVATIONS HAVE CAUSED THEIR DOOM.
[6:94] "You have come back to us as individuals, just as we created you the first time, and you have left behind what we provided for you. We do not see with you the INTERCESSORS that you idolized and claimed that they will help you. All ties among you have been severed; the idols you set up have abandoned you."

Only God , the Creator, Most Gracious is worthy of being worshiped, praised and exalted. Be He glorified, far above all what people claim that He is not enough, far far above. Worshipping God is about God and God has given us the Quran, a complete book to use as guidance to seek His path. May God guide us all to His path and may He open up our minds to allow us start to questions all the assumptions that we as children were made to believe while growing up.

{6:51}
The answer is NO .Why then would God require Muhammed as a partner ,as a god besides the only God , to decide your life in the Hereafter ?!! i read this verse and it jumped out to me
Surah 11:31.
i do not claim that i possess the treasures of God nor do i know the future, nor do i claim to be an angel, nor DO I SAY TO THOSE DESPISED BY YOUR EYES THAT GOD WILL NOT BESTOW ANY BLESSINGS UPON THEM. GOD KNOWS WHAT IS BEST IN THEIR INNERMOST THOUGHTS (if i did this) I WOULD BE A TRANSGRESSOR.
the impact for me in particular is the one in capital letters.
I look to my own life and i immediately thought of my own situation. Its easy for us all to go, God i dont like that person, they are evil, they are murdurous, they are dis dat dat dat... But in all fairness, we only know what we see on the outside.. and for most of us all, ouu outside actions may have no semblance to what our true intentions really are.
Only God knows intentions of each person, that is why God is the Ultimate Judge..
In this life of mis-haps, true intentions- good or bad - can sometimes not go the way we wish it to go...
So in the moment of frenzy and spit-hating, Lord help us to realise that things may not appear the way it seems, and help us to take a moment to remember You and remember this verse. Gw

this morning
This morning when I woke up, I was inspired to think about the state of fasting
As usual I am not a scientific person, though sometimes I may draw on arguments/thesis raised by them to ponder on, but as with all things I tend to speak from the heart.
It occurred to me last night when speaking to some of my friends that in fact as a muslim nation, we are celebrating different tines for fast ending ( as far as I know its 3, could be 4 …)
When did we as a collective of those who want to worship God, when did we start to deviate from Gods words to such an extent that there is divisions in how we observe religion: worshipping God?
We don’t have the same start time for starting Ramadan, and hence we don’t have the same end time for ending Ramadan??
These differences might even because of time differences but its not!
Here in Glasgow, some people declared finishing Ramadan, on the 28th Sep, some 29th Sep and some 30th Sep. This one thing amazes me you know…
All because of sighting moon, seeing moon….
Couple of things are facts for me
There is one God
God created one moon. It is this same moon that all of planet earth are trying to “see” to determine Ramadan, just as trying to calculate the months: since Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar…
The earth is round, so by deduction, some may see moon some may not…
The sky is covered with clouds; this can sometimes obscure the view of the moon, even if it is visible to see….
I finished my fast on the 29th sep. Why did I choose to do this despite the other ones?
For me, I have come to the state where I feel it is not mandatory or binding to see the moon to begin the start of a new month….
One
If Ramadan is the start of a new month and calendar runs “lunarly”, then new moon wont even be sighted, its not until a couple of days after the new moon has been created that one may be able to see the crescent shape depending on which part of the world they are in
Two,
The other months of the Islamic year, we do not hear anything of sighting moon to determine the first day of the month… could it be because we are all agreed that the month is 29 or 30, if by that reasoning then why is Ramadan singled out?
I thank God, that in this space age there is now a more accurate way to determine the start of a new moon and to document the stages of the moon – NASA and all that…
Everything I have searched on the internet, says that a new moon started on 7.58pm 30th of August and the next new moon 08:12am 29th of September…. All accurate to degree of plus or minus 1 in the times….
So all scientists are agreed that this is when you get a new moon by these dates….
So why do some of us as a collective wish and insist on following sightings of crescent moon which going by stages of the moon will occur during the 3rd, 4th or 5th day after the moon has been created?
I hope this incited you to find out more and God willing may God guide us to the truth.
My step mum used to say one thing: Olorun lo n mo eni to o n sii n ohun,
Which translated: God knows those who serve him….
Funny enuff, what does the Quran say about the moon (here are 2 translations… Khalifa and Yusuf Ali)
2:189
¨ They ask you about the phases of the moon! Say, "They provide a timing device for the people, and determine the time of Hajj." It is not righteous to beat around the bush; righteousness is attained by upholding the commandments and by being straightforward. You shall observe God, that you may succeed.
¨ They ask thee concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time in (the affairs of) men, and for Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It is virtue if ye fear God. Enter houses through the proper doors: And fear God: That ye may prosper.
6:96
¨ At the crack of dawn, He causes the morning to emerge. He made the night still, and He rendered the sun and the moon to serve as calculation devices. Such is the design of the Almighty, the Omniscient.
¨ He it is that cleaveth the day-break (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity, and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): Such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient.
10:5
¨ He is the One who rendered the sun radiant, and the moon a light, and He designed its phases that you may learn to count the years and to calculate. God did not create all this, except for a specific purpose. He explains the revelations for people who know.
¨ It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did God create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand.
13:2
¨ God is the One who raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, then assumed all authority. He committed the sun and the moon, each running (in its orbit) for a predetermined period. He controls all things, and explains the revelations, that you may attain certainty about meeting your Lord.
¨ God is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
36:39
¨ The moon we designed to appear in stages, until it becomes like an old curved sheath.
¨ And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk.
For added measure I will add to the end
9:36
¨ The count of months, as far as God is concerned, is twelve. This has been God's law, since the day He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred. This is the perfect religion; you shall not wrong your souls (by fighting) during the Sacred Months. However, you may declare all-out war against the idol worshipers (even during the Sacred Months), when they declare all-out war against you, and know that God is on the side of the righteous.
¨ The number of months in the sight of God is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the straight usage. So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that God is with those who restrain themselves.
These are some of what the Quran says, now tell me, who is there other then the Almighty to guide us……???
9:36
