there was something i wrote before(alaa Llahi) in relation to my views on RK translation and i can confirm that i do not want to be associated with its reproduction in any form /of giving people to use as a source/truth to Gods message.
it is my view that the translation is not perfect. and my no means do i agree that it is an authorised translation from God.
The translation itself is not complete - words are not translated or at best are omitted in translation.
it is my view that this attempt of translation is very much the same as the new testament - when someone trys to translate using the language of the time.
You cannot use RK translation as a reference for finding words and its uses in the quran because the author is not consistent in this regard.
what it is is what i will call it is n interpretation from RK as to what the verses mean.
he has interpreted the verses - IT is his viw - this is what the verses mean.
i will very much advise everyone/anyone wanting to study the quran - by all means it is an easy read - but easy is not necessarily the best ..
find other translations and read them to.
one is always weary of quoting verbatim that this is what a verse means.. because in reality the translations is the translators interpretation of what such a verse means and it is not a source of law.
for those who chose to translate from the RK version into other religions - i say this is poo poo - because what they will do in my view is to translate from the english - from an interpretation - making the same mistakes of omitted words and order of arabic.
but as with all things - i hold to the belief that we all get different meanings of the Quran and it is God who is the teacher and will direct us to the best meaning for each and our individual circumstances - our limits and our graces.
May God guide us all.
